CDPR said that Witcher 3 will be an adaptation for the PS4, not just a port. They will make the most of the PS4 features :)
But like people above have mentioned CDPR is quite a small developer, so there is a limit to what resources they can allocate
You can't compare a single GPU with a gaming console. OR PC to a gaming console as their two different beasts.
People need to calm down with the 8GB of GDDR5 memory thing as it will be coming to PC this year actually, under the new Kaveri APU from AMD

I must agree Witcher 1 gameplay is odd but if you can play for 6 hours you'll enjoy the rest. For me Witcher 1 has amazing atmosphere and story. Even if you don't like combat you owe it to yourself to finish it for the story!
That's why your missing the point, CDPR is not all about the money. Every DLC even the massive Enhanced editions were free. They even gave out free copies on both Wither games on GOG.com

I assume you understand that you are comparing a SINGLE GPU card vs a DUAL GPU card?
Nvidia provide superior Hardware+Sofware+Support package.
Coding OpenGL with AMD cards is just torture, drivers are super buggy, those who have done this will know what I mean.
I enjoy playing games in 3D which nvidia provides a great package.
And the new Nvidia Experience software makes configuring and managing game settings a breeze as well and always keeping drivers up to date.
It all depends on what you want, AMD does have raw power and best bang ...

Don't you think that at some point Microsoft approached Nvidia saying: "Could you make us a GPU for the next Xbox, we would like to have 'this' and 'this' and 'this' from a GPU"

Porting a game meaning making it work on other platform that's it. Adapting means porting the game and adapting it to use the features of that platform.
Arena in witcher 2 could do with with a pvp i would love to fight my friends!!!

I have high hopes for this game!
How can it? Console is a static device, once they began designed the PS4 or Xbox360 they had the latest and greatest specs but once final spec has been written tech has already moved forward.
I can happily go into any store and buy myself an AMD Bulldozer FX-8 Eight Core CPU.
But it's not about specs, it's how developers use the console!
Going from Witcher 1 to 2 was a massive step in graphics, I am sure they will be able to achieve something really cool with 3

Witcher 2 was beautiful but a bit too small, I hope they put in as much details :)
