I felt the story was more compelling than the first...the search for Dom's wife is a great side story that i really got into...I also got more into the story than i did with MGS4 as i was falling asleep often during the long drawn out dialog scenes...I will still play gears 2 well into 09 while my MGS4 has been collecting dust 1 month after purchasing it
In all honesty - i felt Gears 2 was awsome - i have it - and finished it. I don't believe a game is worth a 10 as that would be perfect and no game is perfect as every review is opinion and people just like different things and certain things will be looked over while others will focus on them.

Well this game with "no story" is still getting better reviews than R1 & R2 which is to have had a better story that Gears 2....so....
I guess its R2 that has a crappy story while Gears 2 once again dominates between the 2 franchises...must suck to have only 1 console and to be totally blind that you have to make up user names like ps3killin360 when in FACT the PS3 is in last place....
Well that is why sites like Metacritic and gamerankings use an averaging scale. Like you said 1 site says it 100 and the other says its an 80 - so the average is 90...take the good with the bad.
Some games have an average of around 40 - 60...well these games i will not be picking up as i can see just by the score (and gameplay trailers as i do do my research) that the gameplay is not there, the graphics are not up to par with todays standards of Next gen gaming and so on.......
So then you would have to agree then that the amount of shots in R2 is more extreme than in halo - If you have played halo like you claim then you know that 1/2 a clip takes about .05 seconds to fire. Assault rifle goes through 32 shots in no time and the assault rifle is only mainly used for mid range and kills a guy in 3 pulls of the trigger to the head...which can take 1 second to kill a guy...
so come on...you know as well as i do than that Halo 3 kills happen a lot faster...

Hellangelzx - actually Halo 3 is an extremely balanced game multiplayer wise, you die rather quickley if you don't have the skills...maybe you should play more or atleast watch some MLG games and compititions sometime...you may learn something and be less ignorant
LOL - actually Gears 1, Halo 3 and COD4 are the most played games right now and all are over a year old.

Well if Metacritic is going to be the site now where people will no longer take serious...there is always gamerankings...and if certain fanboys find issues with that site as well then i guess we can always use the number of sales to get a better idea...if not then i guess certain fanboys will just always call foul against the numbers that they don't personally agree with...

My Ps3 is not a Flop...just because it has less highly reviewed exclusives, a crappy online server where every online game needs to be patched, is bigger and heavier than my 360, is in last place and gets terrible multiplat games, Cost too much and i didn't get the "option" for features that i didn't need, didn't come with an HDMI cable for my Next Gen gaming in HD, constant delays...
