Sony doesn't own the rights to this IP. Kojima does. Sony only have a 6 month exclusivity for the sequel.
Everyone DID know it was coming to PC. Everyone knew that after the 1st game, Sony sold the rights to the games and IP to Kojima and his studio. Everyone knew it would eventually come to PC... even to Xbox as well. They knew this before the 2nd game launched.
Also, i think it will release on PC AND Xbox at the same time.

But you know what's weird, Microsoft owns nearly 30% of Open AI which is the company who is solely responsible and who kick-started this "panic buying" of VRAM from everyone else. I think you're correct. But don't expect it to even sell the 33 million Xbox series x/s has sold. It will be much less than that. I'm thinking it might not even reach 20 million sold. But I do think it will be a nice machine
