XBOX heads would have 100% known about this fake cgi gameplay. They go around to studios and play different parts of game during the development process to see how it's going. Shuhei Yoshida used to do this for example.

I believe that was a made up 'slice' of CGI gameplay. It was never real gameplay. I reckon that will be revealed soon through leaks. We'll see though
It seems they made a vertical slice of cgi gameplay with the Perfect Dark gameplay that was shown. It wasn't "real" gameplay. It never was. Xbox heads knew about that. I'm betting this will come out in the following weeks.

They will have fired close to 20,000 people all up after this round of lay-offs coming, since the ABK deal announcement in January 2022. Shocking really

Their console business and GamePass go hand in hand. If they were to stop consoles, they would be, in effect, killing GamePass. The vast majoirty of GP subs are console gamers. If you remove the console, you no longer have 30 million gamers embedded in your ecosystem. The majority will never move to PC gaming and buy a $2000 PC. They will go to Playstation where there is no GamePass.
