Just drop the price of the 20gig HDD to $40-$50. That allows any core owner to easily afford to upgrade (If they want to)

This article is exactly why from the beginning I preferred HD-DVD. It may not be technically "superior" to Blu-ray, but I don't remember any HD-DVD group trying to make people supporting the other format to be idiots. It just shows the arrogance and elitist point of view that some Blu-ray proponents have.
Besides, if all the hi-def players are counted up(including PS3) then HD-DVD only accounts for about 15% of the market......But HD-DVD accounted for 42% of the hi-de...
That has to be the biggest upgrade in "user friendly" computing I think I've seen.
I guess that some people just don't get it or don't like it. That's fine. I'll be buying one when it is out because I own the other two and I want to finish the fight!

Whether you like the Halo franchise or not, it will dominate the holiday gaming headlines. Halo is a name that people know even if they don't play video games. It has become a "Zelda" or "Mario Bros." to the public. Sorry Sony, but you just don't have that kind of title right now or anytime soon.
But by the time they come out, MS will have dropped the 360 price big time and they will be bundling games with their system.
Just look at how well the PS2 is selling now due to it's price drop.

This could be a HUGE hit! I will agree that previous games failed to be blockbusters, but if you watched the video, these developers have the right theme:"kick someone's ass with the force!"
To me that's what all of the previous games have been lacking. I hope they fulfill their destiny with this one.

I predict the title describes exactly what will happen: "spike". That term implies that it will go down soon. Unfortunately, only a price drop on the PS3 itself will turn a sales "spike" into long term sales increases.
But Sony is genius for TEMPORARILY lowering their price by $100?
Sony is the one doing the clearance sale on their 60gig to make room for the inevitable price INCREASE (back to $600) when the 80gig is the only option.
So what if they drop the core 360?
HDMI is not 100% necessary to play games and someone can just pick up a HDD if they want to.
