@frosty,
So where is the one Sony exclusive that shows this 40% more power?
http://www.joystiq.com/2014...
Again, the "parity clause" has only to do with indies that want free dev kits and free game engines. They must release their game on Xbox first or at the same time as other consoles. No where does it require "parity" for resolution, graphics or overall gameplay......only release date.
the "parity clause" you are talking about is only pertaining to release dates of games developed with free ID@xbox dev kits and game engines.
So if you want free dev kits and game engines, release it early on Xbox or at the same time for all consoles you are developing on.
No where does it talk about "holding back" any systems abilities.
For $350?
As far as I know this is the only multi-plat game developed strictly for the next-gen systems that a developer admits they went for parity.
If it continues with other developers on more next-gen only games then maybe people should be asking why, otherwise get used to the fact that the PS4 will have limits on new engines and the Xone will have limits on older engines.
Same can be said about PS4.
1080p on a lot of games, but lots of fog and few AI characters
The XboxOne was built to use DX-12.......which wasn't finished when the console released.
DX-12 is designed for next-gen GPUs and to improve current higher end GPU/CPUs.
The "bad hardware" is not optimized for most current game engines and will only take advantage of new engines as they become more available in the near future.
Yes
Ummmmm, the PS4 is not available in China and won't be for quite a while if at all.
@kayant,
"the makers of the API haven't labeled it as such for XB1"????????
Umm....The Xbox is named after Direct X, both from Microsoft. In fact the original name for the Xbox was DirectXbox.
In addition:

Do you truly believe Microsoft would not have designed ...
King,
Try these:

$22 bucks and they last for years.
Umm......

This photo from Chipworks clearly shows "A12 41" and then just underneath "A12 40". Looks like more than one layer of something on that chip.
Software wise, I definitely agree though. Both systems will benefit from Cloud computing and better API(DirectX12 and OpenGL)
Because the DX12 API was not finished yet plain and simple. The hardware was ready but the software wasn't. MS couldn't wait 6 months and lose a holiday release to Sony and lose that much market share.
Besides, if you have no software ready to prove the "hidden" power......why say anything? It would have made things ten times worse given the DRM thing and not hitting higher res and all.
MS is not using "proprietary" anything. The old standard OMTP 3.5mm headset is phasing out.
The new standard CTIA 3.5mm headset is being used by Apple, HTC, Samsung, Nokia and .........since 2012....SONY.
The PS4 and Xbox one use the same headphone standard.
@insomnia 84,
Pot calling the kettle black.
@Valentinus,
Thankyou for that intellectual response. How typical.
I made no assertion that the Xbox one is more powerful in any way. All my comments on this were for someone here to explain what the photos were.
Please go enjoy the PS4 if you wish. I personally haven't purchased either of the new systems, but so many here make it hard to even have a conversation without resorting to insults.
@static
I checked and the photo is from Chipworks website. I guess they are part of a conspiracy too? I know it may be hard to believe, but that photo alone shows MORE than one layer to the Main SOC on the Xone.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the price of the Xone.......not anything posted on MrXmedia.
People can disagree all they want, just name one Sony exclusive that shows this illusive 50%-400% more power.
