Sony is making an unimaginable mistake by not pursuing this acquisition.
The issue with your argument is that with the studios you named that Sony purchased, majority of that staff has moved on to other companies and ventures. Sony has proven that they can keep their studios at a high quality and weather the storms, whereas Msft has yet to prove that they can do the same. Nor that they can create a studio from the ground up like Sony has proven that they can do. The studios that handle Halo and Gears of War are honestly not that great. Halo has been horrible for y...
Really impressed with the choice in Xbox embracing RPG’s
They should have brought Bill back to balance off the dark negativity surrounding that journey. Story did not grip me at all in this one.
Wonder where Amazon and google would be today if they weren’t forward thinking and kept to the same old strategy that was working for them 20 years ago.
No but i think they should recognize their weaknesses (WRPG/JRPG) and actually invest heavily in them so that gamers can benefit. The backing and support that Sony gives to their studios is of an upper echalon, and to continue to witness it being wasted on the same third person action adventure genre is becoming tiresome. Plus I do feel like they want a steal of a deal on everything, and that mindset is preventing them from making such an acquisition, which then leads to my point that they ar...
Good for Msft honestly. No one can argue the fact that Sony is cheap as sh*t when it comes to investments. Look at every single acquisition they’ve ever made outside of Funimation. Even Gaikai was a steal which explains why the the previous founder of Gaikai was astonished at how incompetent Sony was when they first got the service - it’s as if the better of a deal they get the less care and attention they put into their service(s). Here’s hoping everything works out the way Msft & Zenima...
Agreed, which is why i mentioned quality studios. It either needs to be a major publisher acquisition that would fulfill a major hole (Square and their catalogue of RPG IP’s) or a few smaller acquisition (way more risky in the long run) like Bluepoint, Level-5, Cygames, etc.
When Msft dropped Lionhead and all of their other studios in 2016 I asked myself why Sony doesn’t do the opposite and add more quality studios and talent to their 1st party because the industry is evolving and pretty soon 14-15 studios won’t be enough. Now they slept and their competitor who’s worth over a trillion has 23 studios, some of which focus on RPG’s and a massively successful online mmorpg while Sony has added nothing except for Insomniac. And before anyone responds saying that “the...
As good as God of War is, that is not a “massive” game with hundreds of hours of content
Yea real confused on why Sony doesn’t take on massive projects that can compete with GTA or Final Fantasy
Per episode or total between the two?
Agreed, but as of right now this alternate timeline is not confusing at all. So we will see how it plays out with the next entry
The emphasis I was trying to focus on is the fact that they do not iterate like other successful developers do. So while Red & blue were amazing for their time, this new arceus game should have came out over 7 years ago. They do not evolve as a studio at an appropriate pace.
Yea and I also find it real odd that no one seems to acknowledge the intellect and dedication of the leadership team on this project. It’s not every day you create a game like FFVII Remake. Say what you will about Nomura and the rest, it is amazing what they are doing with the alternate timelines thus far. Plus for those who are paying extra attention to the lore, how can you not tip your hats to the Whisper Rubrum, Whisper Viridi, and Whisper Croceo bombshell. The subtle easter eggs combined...
No this one

Yea. Talk to me in another 25 years as I’m sure they will release this with minimal gameplay offerings other than catching and battling, only to sightly tweak and evolve the gameplay with each follow-up release. Just as they did since the original releases.
Wonder what happened to the sci-fi space epic they were developing. The director of the project even said a couple years ago that it was going to be revealed soon. Never happened
Yea I’m quite nervous. They finally made the overworld look the way it should, but I’m concerned that the quests will be bland, difficulty will still be far too easy (just add an optional hard mode for goodness sake), and there will be minimal depth for exploration similar to Sword and shield.
Sony sinks money, support and valuable resources into their 1st parties. The games from Square would benefit greatly as they have been hit or miss over the last decade. Not to entertain your comment, but Square, Level-5 or Cygames are the only developers I believe Sony should consider acquiring. Has nothing to do with #retaliategate or any other fanboy shenanigans since this Msft acquisition. I thought the marriage between Msft & Zenimax was great for all parties as well.
