IIRC M$ has a dumb policy, that It HAS to come out the same time, otherwise M$ won't allow it on another console for their Indie games or something like that.

They did mess up with the whole Cammy clone reveal. I like the fact SkullGirls poked fun at that.
Their DR3 DLC was a joke of themselves too, which could be a blunder(?). Also, it seems DR3 is no longer a One exclusive, since it is coming to PC.
