the game is getting really high marks. Guess I'll rent it at some point. Still not buying it. I'd rather NOT have a partner around. Makes the game more tense and suspenseful IMO. Also, and I know it's been argued to death, but I really do like to move while shooting. Which is probably why I'll pick up DeadSpace before this. But if you're a RE fan it looks like you got a good installment in the series.
and if you have to wait six months or whatever for it, you can play God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, or whatever other Sony exclusive you're looking forward to. Fallout 3 was a simultaneous release but there were so many good games released at the time that I passed on it. When I do get it, used and off Ebay, I'll have all the patches and trophies that weren't available from day one. So waiting isn't the worst thing to happen. But considering the PS3's increasing popularity and good sales I do...
then there's no way that MGS5 will. PS3 is about to be 299.99, has a bigger install base than it did when MGS4 came out, AND devs are really starting to take advantage of the system pushing it ahead of the 360.
Nah son, MGS5 stays PS3 exclusive.
at least it's across all platforms now and not just the PS3. I guess there's like a one point curve for their scores now.
Seriously, you're going to use a game that was released a year or so after it's release on 360 as a barometer of Take Two's success on PS3 and NOT the fact that sales for GTA4 sold "50/50" on both 360 and PS3 DESPITE PS3 having a smaller install base and a heavier price tag? Umm....wow.
Why not say Capcom bombed on PS3 with Lost Planet regardless of the fact that sales for SF4 are actually leading on PS3. Spinning is an art form for some.
I really enjoyed the first one and can't wait to check this one out. I was hoping for a true sequel but a prequel allowing you to play as a citizen of rapture prior to the fall of the city would be cool too.
it is really broken this time out. Shotgun shots to the head don't always register kills (huh?) and players can enter standby mode which essentially freezes the game except for that player allowing them to kill one person before the mode is turned off. I don't know how they do it, but they do. That really bites.
Single player this time out was really good to me. Just make the shootouts longer by throwing an additional 10 to 15 guys at the players.
Even with all the...
Paid 50 million for 2 exclusive episodes of DLC, marketed the game heavily as being on 360, has the higher install base and was a cheaper system, and yet the PS3 version sold just as well and moved more PS3 hardware.
Maybe instead of paying for exclusive DLC MS can pay for new and exclusive IPs?
Just because some devs don't utilize the disc to its full potential doesn't mean that the extra disc space isn't needed/can't be utilized better by another dev (e.g. Rockstar).
It's nothing to get all up in arms about. The truth is that Rockstar was limited by DVD9 with GTA4. Had the game been a PS3 exclusive who knows how much bigger, more in depth, or more detailed the game could've been. And yeah, if 360 had blu-ray I'd say make the game utilizing blu-ray.
I hope that the rumors of R* going PS3 exclusive are true. Not because I want to be able to act all fanboyish towards 360 owners. I just want to see what GTA could be like utlizing a blu-ray disc and not limited by DVD9.
and I would love to have one that takes advantage of the PS3s strengths. Bring it on.
but I guess more DLC for those that are interested is a good thing. I'm playing through GTA4 again for trophies and to soak in the game w/o being pi$$ed that they changed the driving controls. The game is amazing. I love it. I probably would buy DLC for it if the DLC were released on PS3. But alas, MS has the big checkbook and isn't afraid to use it. But I digress. Enjoy the DLC 360 owners. I guess I'll have to settle for Heavy Rain, God of War III, Uncharted 2, etc.
It's all rumor, speculation, and opinion. That's it. If you want news go to one of the major sites. If you want an article that's grammatically correct then you'll need to go elsewhere. He's doing something new in letting anyone write an article, but I don't think he realizes how much credibility you lose by letting anyone write an article. Oh well. I stopped going to his site because the sensationalism got out of control and he's gone from being a charming and entertaining personality to an ...
some FREE DLC would be even better
a few more games like this and the Wii can be known for more than just G rated games. I hope it sells well for Sega.
I've seen so many MLB09 The Show commercials that I know the lines. I think Sony chooses to not market games that have a certain level of hype because they expect the game to sell anyway (see MGS4 and KZ2). Remember, their fiscal year ends this month. The new year could bring a new marketing budget, price cut, and probably an aggressive ad campaign for KZ2.
Wow....the scores for this one are all over.
if you were really waiting on a review from this site to get the game then something is wrong with you. The game is AAA material. Pick it up already. If you have the means, buy a PS3 for it.
is Killzone 2. And that was to get in the demo. After the way they tried to shaft me by only offering 15 bucks for a game 1 day after it came out, and after how they offered 15 bucks for some games that I sold on my own for 80, I decided no more. Oh yeah, giving me an open game and trying to say its new is not cool. I order online or buy off Ebay. I save money and my games are actually new.
care to quantify exactly what is so "amazing" and how the "gameplay" is so good? I never once forgot that I couldn't run and shoot. I was cognizant of it throughout my entire playthrough. So what exactly happened that made you forget it? Are you just an RE fan who is used to the controls? Because the last RE I played all the way through was RE2 on PS1. That was a good minute ago. I would've expected the basic controls to have evolved somewhat since then.
