Coooool! I hope it's longer than the Burning Crusade video!
Wow, that article sure sucked bollocks! Stupid conclusions and a lack of grip on reality. I just had to vent somewhere, and I wasn't going to register on the site!
Well, Flagship studios is basically what used to be Blizzard North when the debacle of them leaving was over. They were the guys who mostly made Diablo/Diablo II... I had high hopes for them and Mythos was one promising game they had made, but didn't launch.
I think they managed to accumulate so much buzz about Hellgate, the games press just felt fooled. Bubble popped.
Well, yeah, perhaps it also was a design decision somewhere up the line, they should have cut features and polished instead, but on the whole, I think it is a fun game (even more now when patched, http://hellgate.incgamers.c... is seeing a return of visitors), and deserved more than it got.
I was such a huge fan of Hellgate, and visiting Hellgate.IncGamers.com daily. I am so sorry that Flagship wasn't able to push those last few miles in terms of funding, and release a GOOD game... A few more months of polish, and it would have been a lot more popular.
BTW, this is the URL to that Penny-Arcade comic strip:
http://www.penny-arcade.com...
I think the Penny-arcade strip explains it all best. The Necromartyr has done all he can ^^
I'm still waiting for my Beta key!!! Man, I want to try out the new Death Knight as well as the Paladin skills! =D
Now, I wouldn't ever take that as a reason why it would not use multithreading in the game engine. On the other hand, previously mentioned information helps to show a much clearer picture on why or how Blizzard will do with it.
It might be unlikely, but they might be looking ahead and hoping to have SC2 at the level SC1 is today. Using this type of processing will surely help, and also patch in higher graphics settings without much fuzz later on.
Remember, last SC pa...
You're right, but my rig is like 3 years, going on 4th....
Also, it's a laptop, so not very easy to upgrade =/
I love it though, and don't really want to part from it!
Thanks, MD ;)
Following these lines of logical thought, from how they work, to what other game companies are doing, I find it amazing just how much can be deducted in terms of StarCraft II (and probably Diablo III) system requirements!
In terms of my hardware, and the SC2 requirements, I think I might need an upgrade =P
Wiggly tits and Yoda in the same game. This makes me consider buying consoles o.O
I LOLed at the Vegetarian comment. Hahaha.
Still, there are vegetarians that eat fish, egg and drink milk... I mean, they're not *vegetables*, so where to draw the line? All subjective =)
Except vegans, they'r more logic.
Wooo! I have my WH Collectors Edition ready, and the pre-install key to get a head start as well =D
Warrior Priest I think for me. Anyone else already have plans for it?
I can't really believe there are still games without seamless worlds. I guess the 3D stuff has to load, but we surely should have good enough PCs by now to let that load while we get closer to a "load point"...
Comment related to one of the interview questions =P
Hm.. I'm not sure I like Activision's take on Blizzard =P
You're not mistaking Battle.net for a game do you? o.O
Just look at how revolutionising it was 10 years ago. I expect nothing less than the same reception now.
Well, ofc there ARE no official sources, but I think you are right. Both from what we know of the development, and after playing it. Putting 2+2 together isn't that hard.
Basically they have said they would do SP last, and when we last talked to them they were 30% through. If they are still that active, they should be 50% or so now, and that means they just gonna polish stuff more and then release. A <6 month release date seems likely.
