360 accounted for what 42~45% of 2007 market share, in the US? PS3 might survive the world but it is dieing slowly in the U.S.. And though systems can surbvive without European and Japanese strong sales, it can't survive without U.S. sales.
PS3 isn't dead by a long shot but it is not coming close to matching the other systems. Lucky they have Bluray players... otherwise there would be no use for the PS3 at all.
Lived in Japan for 10 years and the majority of gamers are VERY casual. They will get one game and play it solely for the life of their system. It is crazy. But they do have a large used game turn around and that could account for a lot of reduced attach rate also.
The few REAL gamers that I did know where more into the american games, which was odd to me.
But the casual gamers found a game that was repetative and stuck with it forever. Just gaming a bit after w...
It's a matter of turning profit. They can spend less money to make a game for the PC and XBox 360 alone and get a larger profit percentage. Instead of needing another team working on the PS3 version and loosing money on a game that really won't sell well on either system.
This could prove to be a problem to PS3, loosing out on companies that realize that american favored games are going to make a larger profit on the 360 then on the PS3.
No different then the H...
Look at the rules on N4G on how you get points... if you get a lot of interest then you get more power. So all people do anymore is speculate on a subject that they KNOW will stir the fanboys and they get more points and supposed cred. It is a vicious circle of ill.
And they get their circle jerk friends to approve the story. It is just stupid. Nobody controls this forum and it has gotten out of hand.
It's all a mute point. The game is still VAPOR until someone proves different. IronMonkeys are playing you all!
Resident Evil movies... NOT a failure!
Riddick was a Game Great from a not so great movie...(not in this category, why show the picture?)
Silent Hill... great movie.
But it does come down to directors not being able to get the essence of the game. Just taking the cookie cutter name and doing the cookie cutter throw together a film based around it. Similar to many gaming companies that do the same for movies to games. They know the name will give t...
Not thinking I even have followed this game much. Doubt if I will get it for the the 360. Is it another shooter that is going to slip through the system? This will be a wait and see thing. Hohum... Zzzzz...
I can see how they would cut it out of the PS3 line-up. It will probably pale in 360 sales and would do far worse with the PS3 attach rate.
The problem with this game is not so much the hype as the lack of innovation. The first Killzone just tried to sell you on it's graphics and was shot down for mediocre play.
And what has KZ2 offered? More graphics and little innovation. It tries to take a little from all the other good games out there and mix it into a game they can call there own. It appears to be a cookie cutter rendition of everything else. Someone tell me what it's got that will draw me in? A great story? A...
With todays systems and engines, I am shocked he hasn't came back and fixed his Daikatana legend (anti-legend?) and made a good game based off that sore piece of crap.
VAPORWARE... what rock have you guys been hiding under? this is the most hyped Vaporware around. The game has been advertised forever and it is only to trump up interest in something that doesn't exist. Now they change it to a one console exclusive to generate more interest.
That hook is in deep and you guys are being reeled in! hahaha
Looks like an interesting game engine. This is the PS3 version of the engine. Kind of curious to see how the other versions turn out and what the final product will look like?
Too bad the NDA is keeping us from hearing anything more then what we currently have. (If you can't buy the exclusive... at least buy the secrecy of anyone else getting it...)
Its preorder swag. It happens all the time. Big deal. You are getting the whole game experience without these 2 minor items. A memory moment (big whoop... out of how many FMV type memory moments?) and a new Weapon. Big deal... happens ALL the time.
Get over it fanboys...
Ha... now you are reaching for news. My mothers brothers friends sister is once again bringing along the News that perks up the fanboy ears.
No reason that this should have been approved.
A mix of gravity hammer and energy sword. Would be very interesting!
Once again... IGN has no clue. The game brought nothing new to the front.
Looks like an interesting game. Hadn't heard of it before. I do have my worries when he hints that Wallace and Gromit was somewhat of a non-linear world. I hated what they did with that game.
But if it pans out... then this game could be interesting. Looking to see more info on this game as it gets closer to product finish.
Once again... a link to a fake wannabe site. The author of the article (if you can call it that..?) can't even write properly... "..this will now make the game appeal to gamers that no nothing of Soul Calibur." Uhhhmmm does he mean "KNOW nothing"?
Trying to make a story of conflict out of something that is not even news worthy.
So they use Star Wars characters instead of Spawn and Zelda... big whuppity du friggin da...

200,000 is not "doing well", more like getting by I would think.
These games have always been a big Zzzzz... and will not come in near as close as the Train Sim, Dating Sim or Horse Racing games. Japan is just ODD when it comes to games. Hit or miss, who cares...?
Vapor news, on early vapor ideas of a vapor console coming out. And who ok'd this as news??? Wasn't even a legit site from what I could make out.
Idiots!!!
yes but it was all done using snail mail so nobody took notice.
