Xbox is doing well and the X1 will help sales, but this gen, console sales numbers anyway, will go to Sony and the PS4. Where MS might take the lead is software. Now that they will be selling to the pc market as well when more heavy hitters come out such as Halo and Gears MS profits will soar.
It's not going anywhere. The limited editions are just aesthetics (still cool though). Everything under the hood is the same...which you'll enjoy once you get it. People can down vote all they want but games back in the 80's were as high as $74.99 (Phantasy Star SMS) and people gladly paid. that was the price needed for a reasonable profit to be made with the game that used "megabits of power" and also had a battery backup. Many games today have many dozens if not hundreds of people working on them over a period of years. $59 is just not enough to sustain that especially if the game doesn't sell three or four million units.

Doubt very much MS was manufacturing more. Most likely left over stock and some the pre sales that either didn't go through or were returned. either way, the limited X's will not last long, so if you want the console get it before they are gone.

Aren't these the same guys that claimed they would increase the resolution on the original Titanfall on the X One and never followed through? I enjoyed the first Titanfall more than the second but got annoyed at this developer for constantly saying things they never had any ambition of following through on. They need to stop talking and just do the best job possible on any given console.
@ Rockey9...It could also be just Phil's opinion and not company policy. He runs the Xbox branch of MS but still has to answer to superiors in the company and share holders who expect profit. Again, the nature of the industry and regardless if he doesn't care for those practices ignoring them would jut lead to less money being made. That's just never going to happen in a publicly traded company.
Not sure why you are getting thumbs down...This happens literally every gen when a new console hits...no matter which one. Always a handful of the limited quantity left over for whatever reason for a short while.
