Why does the media label this as an impossible task? The Switch is "almost" as powerful as the base Xbox One. 4gig of very fast ram helped that. IF one can handle that the majority of graphic intense games rendering at 720p they will find the console/hand held is well worth the price of admission. On a side note, seeing they did Doom so well and with the system constantly selling out I can see significant third party support being announced.
Your comment is completely backward...Fact is dropping the Kinect and lowering the price saved MS in a big way. No one got screwed. I still use my Kinect for voice activation and enjoy it. Would have been nice if they did more but it didn't work out that way. Also, Halo and Forza are no where near played out...The millions they sell prove that! There is always a large percentage of gamers that have zero loyalty to any brand and just want the best performance for popular AAA cross-plats. Case in point the millions that left the xbox brand when it was revealed it was a weaker console compared to the PS4. Nope, I have enjoyed the X1 since day one..... Neither the X1 or Ps4 were truly powerful enough to be a next gen console when they released, still doesn't mean they didn't offer great gaming experiences. Also, marketing suicide to leave 30 million gamers in the dust. So, MS will not be dropping support for the X1S anytime soon....You knew that though...you just wanted to troll.

900pcompared to 1080p did NOT look bad. Whilst there were some difference it was not night and day. Also you are forgetting that even though many games ran at a higher res on PS4 a lot of those same games had slightly better or more stable frame rates on the X1.
Some of you are arguing resolution only...I think quite a few of you forget that even though the PS4 had better resolution than the X1 on most games when first released more than a few of those same games had better frame rates or less frame rate issues on the X1. The differences between the X and the Pro are NOT just resolution. The differences are across the board and still very noticeable on 4k tv's. I can't see why some of you are trying to deflect that. That is not a very good analogy seeing you are using your own bias to form an opinion. Companies such as gamestop have teams of marketers and annalists that dictate months in advance what they are going to sell. The X has been looking strong long before it was released with plenty of interest as well. Gamestop most likely ordered ore than you think. You should contact them and ask what their total numbers were before assuming they were minor. Who knows they might even tell you.
IF it didn't have the Kinect that could have been a possibility. MS tried to sell the Kinect to everyone and it backfired. Lesson learned from them seeing how powerful the X is....Still admire them a bit for trying to push new technology and a different way of gaming...They just went in the wrong direction. Life goes on.
Japan? Could literally care less about Japan. Switch is doing well and that's good, but that is because it is a handheld. Traditional console gaming is on the decline in Japan and has been for a while. Their take on the X or any Xbox brand is no concern to me. Also, the hundreds of thousands of Xbox X units that have already sold elsewhere is saying a lot for the the new console that every Sony fan has been dissing for month now.
Yeah, but the one didn't have enough ram/fast enough ram to fully utilize the GPU properly. I enjoy my One but I am just stating overall, the Switch is not all that far off especially if a gamer accepts that the most demanding games on it will be 720p/30fps on the Switch where they will be higher settings on the One/PS4.
