Taking into consideration those factors you stated, the conclusion you came to is to just forget about all the great games?

That's some logic. The obvious conclusion I come to with those factors is to buy a PS3.

PS3 has one of the most amazing over-all libraries of games that can't be played on any other platform in the history of consoles and there are still many more to come. And since it makes sense that PS4 not have PS3 ...

I didn't give you the disagree, but I do disagree with you to an extent.

Square may indeed be an eastern developer, but the main FF series (1-12) is more of a "western" RPG. It's based in alot of western lore. The bestiary is full of western mythical creatures more than eastern ones. FF until 13 has been more along the lines of Dungeons and Dragons.

While Ni No Kuni is indeed imo the perfect example of a good JRPG, it is NOT the perfect exam...

As far as I'm concerned as a FF fan since FF1 launched in the US, and one who has played every single FF (aside from 11), there is only one problem with the main series. It's not the characters, it's not the stories, it's not a focus on pretty graphics. Stories and characters of FFs 1-10 were hit and miss, yet I enjoyed them all. The problem with the series is THE BATTLE SYSTEM. It's as simple as that. FF10 was the last FF to have a battle system recognizable as Final Fant...

I truly can't understand this sudden movement against micro-transactions. I think it's a great business model when a F2P game launches with micro-transaction in a genre of game "you" love, or with a concept "you" can get into.

They're giving us free games to play, and we the gamer then decides if the experience is worth spending money on. And not only that but we get to decide EXACTLY how much the experience is worth from 10-25 cents up to howe...

In racing this would be called Race Car Driver's Excuses. In this case, it's Developer's Excuses. So they're trying to tell me that SMS a small studio, making Project Cars which is a 50% publicly funded game with a total budget of around $7 million dollars can make a game that looks amazing and has interiors even better than GT5's, extremely good physics and A.I. and dynamic EVERYTHING....and we KNOW it's running on PS3, but Grid2's developers "just can't&...

I know this will be an unpopular view, but I personally always wished (well....since I've moved on from being a Nintendo gamer, SNES was the last Ninty console I owned and loved) that Nintendo would actually go 3rd party themselves like Sega. Sega got forced into it pretty much, and imo they don't heve enough great IPs to be a HUGE 3rd party dev. But Nintendo could actually CHOOSE to be 3rd party, and their IPs are good enough where I think they could actually make MORE money putting ...

So graphics WAY better than Killzone 2/3.....and btw, 2/3 do some AMAZING things graphically with real time particles, physics, A.I., and animations....with no install I might add......now in full 1080p.....which is not possible on current gen tech, and that's not "next-gen"?

And that's on old PS4 specs. Even developers didn't know PS4 was going to have 8Gb of RAM. At the most it was made with 4Gb of RAM specs, and rumor has it, it was developed on a 2Gb...

Wow.....for me Pacific Rift is the craziest, most fun, most intense, absolute best arcade racer of all time. It's a shame the online was bit unstable, but it was still playable, just hard to find a good race unless you had a private party. But the game was just amazing. And forget being an "arcade" racer, I think it's one of the best racers, full stop. So far this gen only GT5 was better for me.

I loved Monument Valley (Motorstorm 1 for people who don't ...

Trust me, as someone who's played both version EXTENSIVELY, that was all internet propaganda that the PS3 version was worse. Unfortunately it DID have the "bigger" problems in terms of the lag over time, and then when that was fixed there was the freeze from going under water (which I'm afraid to even test to see if it's fixed).

But other than those 2 major issues.....when it comes to MASS AMOUNTS of small bugs and glitches that ruin the experience, the ...

I bought Dragonborn and I will buy Dawnguard since they're only $10 a piece even though I actually traded in Skyrim a long time ago. Bethesda content RARELY goes on sale, so I took advantage of the sale/s know I can eventually rebuy Skyrim on the cheap.

As for this "GOTY Version" people keep saying they're going to wait for. Sorry, the GOTY Version has already been announced and it doesn't come with any of the DLC. It comes with physical stuff like a Col...

Of course PD have had a hand in designing PS4.......for the ignorant, Yamauchi-san is something like Senior Chairman of the Board of Sony Computer Entertainment. (not his actual title, but it's something very high up the totem pole like that). The term "no shite, Sherlock" comes to mind.

@Bathy
PD would take an active role in hardware development because they are the Sony 1st party studio that sells BY FAR AND AWAY the most copies out of every PS exclusi...

And @ the author who said:

"This should be a pretty disappointing thing for people who want to see technological progression, since we have already how Polyphony have struggled on the PS3 when it comes to executing their vision."

You seem to be yet another person (amongst the majority of gamers on the internet who ever mention GT5) who seemingly gives no regard to the fact that GT5 was one of the first, if not THE very first PS3 game in development....

1st thing I have to say is "I told ya so".

2nd, the 4K display was GT5, and it was playing on a PS3 array....I don't know what the proper term for it is. I think I read it was 4 strung together or 8. Can't recall specifics. But it was GT5. It was just a tech demo using GT5 not "upscaled" but displaying in 4k.

Back to the I told you so thing lol......

There's SO many reasons it would obviously be a PS3 game...th...

Actually, it's been what, like a year since D3 launched? The PS4 version may look even better that THE ORIGINAL D3 release. Why do I say "original"? Because I think the game's going to be re-released on PC/getting a HUGE update for existing owners to change the original to the "new version". But my point is, there's alot of room for graphical improvements (and gameplay related improvements) for D3, I don't think a full-on relaunch, even for the PC, is beyon...

This author is OBVIOUSLY not paying attention. He's talking about how original and creative game are important, and that raw power has nothing to do with creativity. And he's right, but that's where what he's right about ends.

It doesn't take raw power to be a creative game designer, but what raw power often does is make it ever easier for creative visions to come to life. Think about Little Big Planet. I'm not really a LBP fan, but what that game show...

It's simple. Final Fantasy has declining sales because no one really loved 13, and most didn't even like it, and all FFs since have been sequels to 13......so what would you expect Square-Enix?

Why would any businessman really think that a game no one liked should have as many sequels as you can possibly pump out. After 13 flopped critically, all efforts should have been focused on Vs13 and 14, not priority given to sequels for probably the worst FF ever.

I guess you and alot of other people who constantly say this same thing, about "Home's not even out of beta yet after all these years,...blah blah blah....", aren't "in on the gag".

Let me explain it to you and them as simplay as I can. Home will NEVER come out of beta. How could it? It's an ever evolving world. Every week they are testing and adding new content and it's never going to stop evolving. It will never be "finalized", ...

I'm with you. I was an avid user of Home from Closed beta right through to like early 2012. I love it, I think it's a great and highly under-rated place for gamers. And in my time using it I probably spent about $100 or so, that's how much I enjoyed it. But I just got sick of all the loading, and random locking up. Not to mention certain groups of people who use the service. Weirdos is putting it VERY kindly for some of them.

But that said, Home is a huge money ma...

What proved that isometric action rpgs work well, and when done right are actually better to play on consoles? Torchlight, you say? Was the xbox 360 you got in 2010 your first video game console?

I'm pretty sure it's been proven many times over and over again by quite a large number of games dating back to.....oh gee, i don't know.....some of the first consoles in console gaming history, on just about every console platform bet...

You can't really, I suppose. It was the AC3:Liberation bundle on Black Friday and Gamestop was also doing +50% for trades, I opened the bundle in store and traded AC3:L and a couple other games I no longer play which covered the tax and the used 32Gb memory card. So technically I didn't pay $200, but I only parted with $199 of my cash.
