A minor flaw to you may be a major flaw to them. If you don't agree with a reviewers opinion that's fine, it doesn't mean they're being stupid or clickbaiting or trying to have a different opinion for the sake of it, or being too proud or something.
The whole calling out reviewers thing was getting annoying as of late, mainly because of how hypocritical people were with it. It became a method of defending a fanbase and pushing away criticism especially when i...
It's good they're changing everything.
Rocksteady, unlike other studios, like to keep things fresh.
It'll take some time, but we'll see more and more impressive things in the ENB as he develops it.
Remember in Skyrim, how extensive ENB was. So many rendering features and post processing effects.
Reflections on every surface, Indirect lighting, Image based lighting, high quality SSAO, fantastic DOF etc etc. Overhauled skin shader with SSS which looked photorealistic at times.
yeah, it doesn't clump up like it does in real life, limiting the movement of large sections of hair, depending on the hairstyle.
Depends on how it's implemented. Look at the way CDPR used it for Horse mane and monster hair in TW3. It looks incredible, although not so much on Geralt himself.
It all depends on how you set it up and implement it.
What I feel, is that the game is holding itself back by taking design gameplay presentation choices from the worst sp campaign games in history - the Modern Military Shooters. Atleast regarding it's basic combat sections.
Instead of taking design cues from stupid games, they need to take design cues from The Last Of Us or something. What a game. More complexity, interactivity and simulation at any one time. Give players something to play around with ie extra gameplay me...
Graphics are an important part of any game. Ofcourse gameplay will come first, but it's never really that simple. They're both closely related, as someone else said here. You can't really separate them completely and compare them.
^This.
So many people keep saying "Who cares about the graphics"
Visuals and audio are the ways in which gameplay is fed back to us.
Whatever anyone says, the graphics are a significant part of a game, and DIRECTLY affect how gameplay is perceived. In other words, they directly affect how entertaining the gameplay is. That's just a fact.
LOL calm down. It's just the truth in that it isn't very popular. It's inclusions is great, but is not much of an addition on it's own to most gamers.
No, you don't need to be a feminist to want women to exist in a game. What he said was EA was doing this to gain the favour of many feminists. Which could very well be one of the reasons. It's all good if they do it properly though...
It's just that it makes very little difference t...
Come on, this is a Rocksteady developed game. It looks to be the biggest, best looking, most complex entry in a series that has been amazing so far. The gameplay looks absolutely astounding.
This definitely has GOTY potential. It's all subjective in the end. Which experience overall was the most compelling - and that depends so much on the reviewer.
small jump graphically ?
Sorry but no. That jump is absolutely massive lol. Just played Arkham City a few days back on PC. It's no where close to this.
Not to mention this is PS4, not PC. It still completely blows Arkham City on PC out of the water.
@ifistbrowni
oh I see. Ok, that's nice to know. Still, it's way more conspicuous here than in City.
Also, the beat down was fully of mini electric explosion effects. Completely ruined the feeling of the beat down as it was in Arkham City.
I don't know. These things need to be toned down in my opinion, because visually they don't seem to fit in. They seem out of place and way too artificial in a scene rendered out with such r...
It isn't button mashing at all. It's a very fun, cool looking and rewarding combat system, with more than enough variety to keep you interested. Timing is key, especially if you play on harder difficulties, where I'm sure there will be no counter indicators.
What I really don't like about the combat here is all those artificial effects. They're ok for some moves, but I don't want a mini electric explosion effect for every hit, and a neon trail for every ...
So what ? That's always been the case with high end PC gaming.
Makes no difference at all. The PC and Oculus will always have the advantages that generally come with PC gaming.
That's because that's basically what it is - a sweetfx preset.
The article was a bit misleading in that way. This is just another preset. That's not to disrespect those making those presets. Kudos to the guys/girls who spend time tweaking this stuff and uploading it for us.
After a while, we'll see the real good stuff. Overhauled textures, reworked meshes, and if we're lucky, something like an ENB to completely overhaul the rendering and ...
The games are only going to get better. Imagine how good Uncharted 4 will be, the imagine what else Naughty Dog will cook up in a few years time :')
^More gameplay.
Also more complexity. More interactivity and variety in gameplay mechanics at any given time. Look at any good TPS game these days. It should never be move shoot and that's it. There should always be more complexity to the gameplay at any one point.
The Last Of Us is a perfect example of that. Whether it's exploring or combat. The movement and climbing, picking up objects and crafting, the extensive melee aspect of combat including...
So because the rest of the game is good it doesn't matter ?
Wonky logic.
Yes, everyone IS enjoying the game, even the people 'crying' downgrade. Everyone knows graphics are not everything. We're not retards.
Doesn't change the fact that there was a massive downgrade. Doesn't change the fact that the PC version could have easily retained some of those features as options. Graphics are not everything, but they are, by na...
So basically Watchdogs fiasco was Ok because the game was bad and looked bad.
Witcher 3 is completely ok because game is otherwise good, and looks good too.
That's just sad, and completely unfair tbh. How good the games were are completely irrelevant here. There was a huge downgrade on PC, without any options to retain any removed features. If it was in any way for parity sake, CDPR deserve flak for it, just like Ubisoft got it.
I got a bit annoyed with insanity though. Enemies did become bullet sponges to some extent.
Still, sooo much better than normal. Any game is generally a more intense and enjoyable experience on higher difficulties
