Generally a lot of salt in n4g community about this game. It doesn't matter if you didn't like it. This game was a massive hit on all platforms, that's just a fact. Lots of people really liked it, and just because it's multiplayer, doesn't mean it can't win.
Zelda did not look impressive at all in the timelapse. I get that people like the game, but a timelapse is kind of useless for anything other than visuals.
With Horizon, I'm going to be honest, the clouds look mindblowing here, but that's it. The landscape doesn't look that good. Always fog everywhere and the draw distance isn't that high. Horizon has amazing attention to detail everywhere, but timelapses like this don't capture that.

Wow it worked ! I can't beleevit !
So you have to reinvent the wheel for the game to be a sequel ? Sorry but that's really stupid. They don't have to start from scratch. They're adding tons of tracks, cars, completely different types of racing including offroad, a new weather system, a new system by which the track is affected by weather, and probably a whole bunch of other stuff.
By your standards, hardly any Gran Tourismo, Forza games would be considered sequels. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood d...
Ghost Recon Wildlands has some gorgeous lighting and day/night cycles. Unlike Horizon, it's less fantastical and more of a realistic approach. I really like it, especially the rain and volumetric lighting. Very realistic.
"Need volumetric clouds that actually react in sunlight and shift realistically during time changes. "
Every game needs that, but you can't expect them to have it. Even Horizon Zero Dawn has it relatively low res (Still, absolutely worth it - looks amazing). Also, Ghost Recon Wildlands is Third Party Multiplat open world. They can't achieve what Horizon Zero Dawn does on PS4, but they are still limited by console hardware. They won't be able to do vol...
Very cool. I'm a PC gamer, but I really appreciate the push for advanced rendering and visuals by Sony first party studios. Uncharted 4 and Horizon being the biggest examples. That said, it still has quite a few drawbacks by the looks of things. Imagine when the PS5 comes out, I think that's when we will truly have our minds blown. Then I hope they achieve 60fps, large draw distance without pop in, with all the detail and graphics features, in open world games.

seriously ?
Agreed, but the animation just makes it looks flat out weird. The point is it feels like they take the model and then consciously try to make it look uglier. It just looks unnatural as a result. They should just take a real life average looking person and model after that.
The male characters don't have this weird approach. They are still very good looking.
The game shines on terrain and vegetation aspect. For me definitely the most natural I've seen, also with an unbeatable sense of scale. On PC the environments looks incredible.
To be fair, Quiet was dressed like a prostitute. The explanation for such a strange outfit in this setting was laughable. As a result, it simply didn't fit in, broke the fourth wall, and it was obvious that it was like that for sex appeal.
The issue was not Quiet being beautiful... very different criticism here.
we need to go deeper
WELCOME TO HANNNWELLL
The misrepresentation and sad reporting by WSJ and other outlets has only strengthened him.
I'm not really a fan of Pewdiepie, although I've recently watched some of his newer videos (and enjoyed some of them). The thing is though, after this, I'm automatically on his side. You can bet I'm not the only one. Anyone who researches this entire thing will probably have the same reaction. As someone who saw the 'offensive' content, the gap between real...
what ?
Why ?
I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the environments seen in videos. Don't know why.
Game still looks like the opposite of 'stale' to me. The gameplay looks insanely fun, and the graphics (technical side and artist attention to detail) are very high quality in general, especially for an open world game.
"Theres no law that says an open world game cant look as good as a linear one."
That's not really true. All that streaming is not magic. With a linear, fixed location you can ALWAYS make it look significantly better.
Not to mention lighting and dynamic Time Of Day. In Uncharted 4, they used baked GI, and it looks amazing. In a game like Horizon, you can't have that because it's all dynamic. Dynamic GI is very expensive if you go down that rou...
Is it being monetized ?
The reason it was taken down was that this was being monetized as a project.
well, to be honest that's nothing new. It's just the eye reflecting the cubemap, like any reflective surface. Pretty sure some games do this already.
That said, Aloy still looks amazing. Definitely the best character rendering in an RPG so far.
