I like how everyone's forgetting that the Wii title is running in standard Definition, while the 360 title is running in high definition.
Which, in actuality, kind of points out how fallacious the whole "high def!" argument really is. Proof that just because something is "HD" doesn't instantly make it better - a good standard definition title can look better than a bad high-definition title.

Microsoft is releasing an upgraded system? Well F*** me, I wasn't aware that rumours could be used as the basis of an argument. In that case, hasn't the PS3 lost this generation? Because that's what this rumour is stating.

Anyone that uses a rumour as the basis of an argument only proves that they have no argument.

EDIT: Ok, then, lets just assume for a second that the 360 is genuinely incapable of doing better looking games than the PS3. Tell me, good sir, what tha...

I'd say the PS3 certainly hasn't WON this generation yet, but LOSE? That's rediculous. The last console to "lose" a console war was the Dreamcast. The only losers are the ones that fail outright. The PS3, while not performing as well as many would like, is still doing well overall.

I think these types of articles are stupid.

I'm willing to bet it's just the "new" version of the NXE dash they've been talking about. I believe the NXE itself had a beta and an achievement associated with it.

There is more than one "Halo" ring, there's thousands of them in the Galaxy and with each Halo game, they invariably get targeted for use as some giant weapon.

When you say 2 "games", there really has only been about 2 per console on the main series. Halo Wars is a spinoff RTS that may as well have its own following. Reach is...well...nobody really knows, yet but considering the 360 has already outlived the Xbox1, I think maybe even one more title isn't too unthinkable.

That's 6 games in about 10 years (when will reach be out? Even assuming it's next year, that's still 9 years). That's not too shabby, considering Call of Duty is effectively on 7 in about 6 years. And what about Mario? What about all the games, spin offs, racing games, etc. we've had? Way more than 6.
I think Halo, being Microsoft's biggest franchise on the 360, has actually been fairly reserved with just over 1 game every 2 years.

As much as I believe that Halo is vastly overhyped, I have no issue with Microsoft using the name to expand into new genres. I quite enjoyed Halo Wars, to me it was Halo in name only and had it been another name, I'd have still enjoyed it, but it wouldn't have sold as well. This makes sense to me.

ODST, although very much like Halo, is a different take on it. More freedom, more plot-orientated and such. I am quite looking forward to playing it, despite not having even finished Ha...

Sounds promising! Hopefully they'll get both ingame music working for all/most titles and better still, ingame music streaming.

That's not missing, they confirmed that vehicles would be in MP a while ago.

Dedicated servers are only useful if you actually live near them. Talk to any australian that tries to play Left 4 Dead to see what I mean.

I'd love to see Syndicate on today's hardware. 15 years later and we could have a fully 3D, fully living, breathing city to tear apart, blow up, persuade and generally mangle to our heart's content.

I thought that when I read the headline, but after reading the article I have to agree with him, EA doesn't "get" the game.

These rules apply to all developers, not just indie developers. Microsoft is obviously keeping tight control of them to ensure their image stays family friendly.
And when was the last time you seen a Mii kill another Mii?

Read the article, it's not a "new" PSN, it's simply the expansion of the existing PSN onto products other than the PS3 and PSP.

This article might be making a Valid point if it wasn't for the fact that it's bashing Natal based entirely on the Lionhead demo being "smoke and mirrors".

"Investigations behind Natal have been revealing, but no one will deny it was buggy and incomplete. Calling it “smoke and mirrors” or an “elaborate fraud” doesn’t change the fact that it still exists."

Buggy and incomplete? It seemed to work well to me and anyone else that tried it. The Milo de...

Oh they were at each other's throats about it a few years ago, it nearly went to court and everything, but they managed to settle it before that. I think the main issue was the Xbox not selling as well as they both hoped, so Microsoft tried to cut costs while nVidia tried to keep profit margins up. Can't really say one company is more at fault than the other, really, but the real details were never released so it's hard to say.

As for emulation, the problem is that it doesn't wor...

nah, nvidia screwed Microsoft before even that, by keeping the price of the Xbox1's graphics chip artificially high (one of the many reasons Microsoft abandoned the console so quickly). After all they were the only supplier. That's why Microsoft made sure they had complete control of the internal chips of the 360.
Now whether or not nVidia is doing the same to Sony with the PS3 remains to be seen, all that will be kept behind closed doors. Still, originally I believe Sony was going to d...

Indeed, but the RSX was based off of a Geforce 7800, so in theory there's nothing stopping Sony negotiating with nVidia for a faster variant of it, based off one of their newer chips. It'd probably result in a small decline of compatibility with PS3 games, but no moreso than the PS2 did for PS1 games.

I'm taking this article with a huge pinch of salt, but it makes a lot of sense. Make a more powerful console, but make sure it's backwards compatible with existing 360's, that way developers can target a huge market while still allowing room for growth.

By making the architectures so similar that they're essentially the same, but faster, engines, tools, etc. can be developed way ahead of the launch. It's a good plan, if it's real, it should mean that the transition to the next ge...
