thats why i said "franchise" all bungie did was: halo, halo, halo, halo and you guess it halo. which some people (fans) said they werent happy with 2-3 story line. look at developers like ND and insomniac and the hit tittles they have under their belts that range from different genres. i want bungie to show what they can do outside of shooters (comfort zone)
@lategamer
all those games you mention were average at best. i also played oni and again average. th...
That's 10 cents less you should be paying compared to blu-ray then
One game/franchise doesnt prove squat. I hate people who credit developers for 1 game or franchise it's what makes developers skeptical to do something new in my view, your second paragraphs proves just that.
I'll tell you some: gt5, midnight club, Tokyo extreme racer (import tuner challenge) etc. These games offer a lot of replayability and some offer deep customization, lots of tracks, cars, etc..
This is good for 360 owners; why should they pay exactly as blu-ray games, when DVD is inferior, holds less, and has weak scratch protection? This will also be good for ps3 owners; since we will be paying more for a format that holds more, has better disc scratch protection, etc.. Maybe developers then will stop shafting us.
Well I like my movie streaming: crackle, Netflix, vudo, hulu, Sony video; my music streaming: Sony music, qroicity; my sports streaming: NHL tv, mls tv, MLB tv; my games: dlcs, arcade, minis, classics, retail, ranging from established developers to indie; my luxury features: web browser, Facebook, twitter etc. (for free and not pay Sony a fee to access) voice chat, video chat, text chat. This, of course, is my preference and others have their own, but I feel I get a bang for my cash on the ...
@motorola
That's isn't a concrete argument as people who stumble or intentionally looking for bugs/exploits is a small percent and usually the same people/group. So it doesnt matter if a game sells a bazzillion copies or just 1 million. It's like gamers like us who voice our opinions or are active in gaming forums we are a small percentage of actual gamers.
@dabgert12
It also hurt its software sales. Usually games like adventure, racing and RPGs sell more on the ps3 even in NA but that changed as games like la noire, dirt 3 and portal sold more on the 360 since the outage
If they do not leave ps3 owners in the gutter by giving us second class products compared to it's 360 counterpart they should do just fine. Hopefully bunjie is like insomniac and does different type of games and not just shooters. I want to see what bunjie can do with their style/design. Halo (reach) is colorful and alive. I would like them to do something along the lines of rachet or jak. bunjie is the 360s insomniac/naughty dog so now we'll see if they're just talk or if they ca...
Japanese developers *waves fist at the sky hysterically*!!!! Just keep releasing the different genres of games people like and not bust out what westerners are already doing each year. I play both games western developers and Japanese as both have their own style of direction. Our games sell like crap in Japan does that mean western developers are teh doomz?? Japanese games sell well in Japan and does decent in other regions vise-versa. I guess the only difference is our market is bigger.
They have no choice... Look at what happens to cod games if support is dropped for it. The games become almost unplayable due to hacks, cheating, exploits. Who beta tested these games?? Really I never experience a game needing so many patches to fix bugs/exploits.
@dangert12
It didn't effect it sales significantly at all, whether beneficial or not. There was no shift in it's momentum. In fact, it effected it's NA sales as it descended compared to previous weeks prior to the outage.
Did you read the article by any chance...? They are not forcing you to use move and you won't even notice it's there. In the other hand someone like myself has the oppurtunity to use it if I wish. Doesn't hurt trying it out and if I don't like it I can go back to the dual shock. If someone else likes it though that's their preference and not for me to judge or prevent developers from implementing it.
Oh okay so if I buy NFL 11 next year new for 29.99 (which EA gets a profit) EA can shut the online portion the week after?? Or let's try this scenario. If I buy NFL 11 used next year and pay 10-15$ for the online pass EA can shut the server down the week after? Why even implement online passes if they can't waste money on servers then? Seems online passes is a strategy by developers to ensure people buy their newer products and not really combat used games/old games
How would it boost sales? Only accounts made before the outage can redeem the games and only for 1 console? I hope you were being sarcastic with that comment
This is why you shouldn't support 'online passes' you're paying for the online portion and yet EA can shut the servers down when they wish
well thats what you get when the media perceives gamers as "juveniles" and "immature". they dont think adults are actually playing games. they dont consider that mostly any age group in the gaming community act inappropriately and that doesnt help our image. its why i made my thread in the 'gamers lounge' section, on how gamers should be seen/act
hey neko!!
How long do they have to milk their departure from halo?? It felt like they said farewell years ago from all these "bunjie celebrates last day of halo", "bunjie tell fans they left halo", "bunjie gives a 1 min silence in respect for their departure from halo" etc. articles. that's what I been reading since bunjie left MS and halo, we get it bunjie jeez
*takes a deep breath*
you do know that killzone 3 sold half of what killzone 2 did, and killzone 2 has been out for 2 years right?? so how is it on track to sell less??
you do know that GT5 is on track in beating COD BO as the best selling ps3 game right??
