This is what I don't get: For so long now this game has been touted for its difficulty level. People saying this game will chew you up and spit you out. Saying it's the hardest game to come along in a LONG while. Now, when one reviewer comes out and admits that it did indeed chew him up and spit him up (though it was his fault for kinda underestimating the game) y'all want to jump on him and rip on it just because he freely admits what has been known for so long now and what other site's have...
Exactly. This is actually a good review. This is not an article bashing the PS3 or Demon's Souls. I don't see why people are so up in arms. Especially considering that this is one of Demon's Souls (if not THE) selling points: it's difficulty. Now when it comes out that the difficulty was a bit too much to handle for one guy (who admittedly approached it wrong and it was all his fault--by his own admission), then that's a bad thing all of a sudden? People are way too whiny here.
If ...
Do y'all read the articles? Or do you just read the headline and description then start whining? Admittedly the contributor should've probably posted the last two paragraphs for the description then it wouldn't have been as 'misleading'. But seriously, people, read things before bashing them. This reviewer says absolutely nothing bad about this game really. He even goes on to "wholeheartedly" recommend the game, calling it a "beautifully crafted game" that he "can't w...
Ageed Canadian. I hate how run and gun mindless shooters like MW2 run the market. THIS is what I'm after. All these people can line Kotick's pocket and clamor over MW2 like it's the second coming, but I'll be enjoying a real shooter when I pick up Operation Flashpoint. I always prefer my shooters to be much more tactical than mindless. SOCOM was my favorite shooter franchise on PS2. Which is something that could help this game. If the word of mouth gets going good enough, all those people loo...
Actually to understand the real-location/in-game connection think more like Invizimals. That game is exactly what this technology is about. Only they're talking here about doing it to a grander scale.
Good choices (though I'm not getting the collector's edition Demon's Souls as it appears you are since you say 130 instead of 120). Those are my top two this month as well. Add Operation Flashpoint to that and I'm totally set for a lil while.
It truly is a telling statement when you're able to make a Top 5 list for a single month (all filled with anticipated games--and not even getting all of them either). I'd probably put Operation Flashpoint over most those games on there. I think, for me, it would be more like...
1. Uncharted 2
2. Demon's Souls
3. Operation Flashpoint
4. Borderlands
5. Brutal Legend or Crack in Time
Though my list only contains games I can get on PS3. However, I...
I'm not going to get into this lil "debate" here between you two, I just wanted to point something out....You both are HORRIBLE at math. Seriously, just imagining the thought process that went into that calculations is terrible.
Now I'll assume that your 28 million 360s and 2.2 million ODST figures are right since I dont care enough to look it up. If those numbers are correct though, 2.2 is about 8% (lil bit less) of 28 million.
Sad.
I'll agree that not many (if any) are truly beasts in the marketing department like MS are, but to say Sony can't advertise at all is a bit ridiculous. First off, they have some good ads going right now. Back in the PS2 day they had some very awesome ads going and advertised well. Just they had a lull period at the beginning of this generation. Quite honestly though I think that was a financial thing really since they took such a hit financially for the R&D and production of the ps3. They...
I will agree there are just an insane amount coming out. I know I won't be able to keep up with them all. Especially when you factor in multiplat games. Starting next week the onslaught begins for me and it won't stop until like summer of next year maybe. That is seriously going to hurt my wallet. I mean I'm excited as hell for alot of these games, it's almost too much though. Think I might have to pick and choose between alot. Maybe at Christmas I can get people to pick up a few others for m...
I actually agree with that. Whether someone likes it or not, community and online gaming is the future (and the present). Personally I don't care for it as I'm much more a single-player gamer still. However it is how it is. Putting a headset in every box would be nice. Even if it's a cheap one rather than that more expensive "official bluetooth headset". That and I'm sure there might be a couple more small ideas to further enforce that community nature (I'm just not sure off the top...
@Sarcasm
"Why does a 10/10 have to necessarily mean "Perfect?" "
Um....did you really just say that? Why does it necessarily mean perfect? Because the base rating is 10, thus the highest score you could ever get (technically) is 10. 10 being the perfect score on that rating system because you can't go higher than that. I'm sorry, that was just a retarded comment.
However, when you go on to say "It means they loved it despite a few minor...
Yea I would've put Uncharted 2 over everything on that list as well. I've also always thought Call of Duty games were vastly overrated so that one wouldn't even make it on my list. Of course, I only own a PS3 and I don't care about any games I can't play on it, so ODST and Forza wouldn't be on my list either. In fact, the only game from there that would make my list would be UC2. Killzone 2 just seems out of place there, cause this seems much more like a "upcoming games to buy" list...
I agree with you SuperM. I think pretty much every review site is too lenient with reviews and their scores. Of course, when I do go by reviews, I go by the text and not the score, but still. It actually irks me when I see games getting perfect scores. Especially when most of the time even in the review they'll mention some flaw (whether it be minor or not). I just don't understand it. No game is perfect, so we should very very rarely see perfect scores (if ever). I actually prefer those site...
@Yogi
Exactly! That was one of the things I didn't get. I mean practically everybody I know was complaining about that last Indiana Jones like "What the hell? Aliens? Really? That's garbage, it's not even sensible". And I'm sitting there wondering...umm....they've all had some kind of supernatural element, how does this surprise them? Ark of the Covenant (weapon of mass destruction), VooDoo ("cova your heart Indy" lol), and the Holy Grail (eternal life). Granted the ...
All I got to say is.....I cried for Isara. Like...seriously.
@Syronicus (and Legionaire down the list a ways)
You're looking at this from the wrong angle. You're wanting to put this on the game companies/developers/publisher s. That's not the root of this "problem". Why do they care if you pre-order it or buy it a couple days after? They don't, as long as they get the money. Pre-orders don't help sales (well not in most cases--especially not bonuses like these). These pre-order bonuses are contrived by the retailers themselves. They're ...
@TONY
Exactly! This is just getting started because of Gamestop listing. Since when do we look to retailers for legit release dates?
I actually didn't like the twist in the first one. I mean, don't get me wrong, it didn't ruin the game by any stretch. Uncharted is still my favorite game so far this gen (just ahead of VC), but I didn't so much care for it. It really was a "what the hell" moment, but not in a good way really. I mean it didn't bother me a whole lot, and like I said definitely didn't ruin it. However, it just twisted suddenly and felt so contrived that I was just left wonderin....why? ND did do a goo...
I'm not going to get into this whole "___ wins" deal, however I will say that with what is looking to be a good-to-high-profile exclusive per month next year, Sony is definitely making a claim to it still being the 'leader' of the gaming industry.
Also, @Lifendz
You realize this is actually a positive article for the PS3? It actually says Sony has amazing games coming out next year that will really give them a good push. So technically this is a positive article, so ...
