This game is absolutely amazing. I mean I didn't expect that big a jump over the first (which used to be my favorite game this gen, only now it's been trumped by its sequel), but wow, it was definitely an improvement. Seriously, as gay as this might sound: this game isn't like playing a game, it's an adventure. Truly amazing.
That being said, I didn't even need to read beyond the description on this one. When he failed to understand why the controls were "sluggish and unresp...
Thank you. I think people are confusing the actual term. They're listing things like Brutal Legends and Borderlands and Ratchet as sleeper hits. These can't be sleeper hits, because they're commonly known about and hyped. Let's put it this way, when you go to the front page of the PS3 section on N4G and look to the right and see that Brutal Legend is in the Top 10 of the Hottest Games right now, then there's no way in hell you can consider the game a sleeper. I still say Demon's Souls. That s...
@Beast
You think R&C will be the sleeper hit? Um...you realize what the term is right? I just don't think the next installment in the very popular R&C series can be considered a sleeper. I guess an argument for Borderlands could be made though (I just have this nagging feeling it's going to let me down though...I don't know why, just do though). As for Brutal Legend, I played the demo and I thought it was rather 'eh'. In fact, I'm almost of the mind to consider it overrated from...
@Sarcasm
Exactly right. This game won't even compare to the magnitude that GT will sell systems. Or even how FF will sell systems. To be honest, I think UC2 will help to sell a few systems, but I think those that really really want the game, want it because they've played the first one (thus already have a ps3).
By the way, I'm not trying to downplay UC2. I think it will be GOTY, and it will probably trump Drake's Fortune to be my new favorite game of this generation (maki...
Nevermind. I'm not even going to dignify it anymore.
Simply put, quit trying to pass your (and Pixel Perfect's) opinion as fact. And learn the difference between "bias" and "difference of opinion" (because there was no bias in that IGN review--of this or of the Raiden review either). Quit crying just because some people don't like certain games as much as you.
And don't be so ignorant as to presume that one can't acquire a basic ballpark opinion ...
@2dGamer
What the hell are you talking about? Somebody got their panties in a twist real quick didn't they. First, I simply said that I just don't see this game being a perfect score game. No I haven't played it, that doesn't make my opinion entirely unfounded though. I have seen videos and all that. All I was saying it that the game actually looked interesting to me and looked like something I might be willing to rent to give it a play, however I just didn't see it as being a perfect s...
Ok, first off, I will guiltily admit that this game (at least the concept) intrigued me and it wouldn't suprise me if it went on to be a rent-worthy game. But....a 10/10? You have got to be kidding me. I've never played the game and really haven't seen much on it, but it just doesn't strike me that something like this should get a perfect score. I just don't see it.
Saw videogame: perfect score lol. It really makes me laugh and wonder where does this site go from here? What scor...
Oh I definitely don't rule it out continuing on the PSP (or hell, maybe we even get a Jak PS3 game), the wording of what I said is where one needs to pay attention. I simply said we'll never see a Naughty Dog-made Jak game again. If the franchise does continue it will be by other developers like High Impact Games.
@calis
No they're not. High Impact Games is doing the PSP Jak game. Mark my words, ND won't be doing Jak again. That's how they do things, they do one franchise per generation, then move on the next gen to something else.
@Remember
I agree. I think they're taking this a bit out of context so to speak. Not to mention the fact that he can't just come out and confirm UC3 yet if it's not in the books to be revealed yet. As big as Uncharted has become right now, they'll b...
Forget that. I think Sucker Punch's engine is great. It worked very well for inFamous, I thought. inFamous was lacking in the gameplay department, not the technical department. The gameplay just got old and repetitive after a while, that's the only thing that needs to be improved.
Don't get your hopes up. At least not for an ND-made Jak game. That just isn't how Naughty Dog works. Just look at their past and you'll see....not very likely that ND returns to Jak.
Playstation was released in '95. In 1996, Naughty Dog releases Crash Bandicoot. A year later Crash 2 comes, followed by Crash 3 a year later and a year after that we get CTR (god I loved that game) in 1999.
Playstation 2 is released in 2000. ND takes a year from releasing games making...
@Goomba
Really? I hate PC-elitist. Here let me clarify for you. No, not by "copying and pasting what PCs have done for years". This generation alone: was it PC that introduced the Cell ushering in a completely different processor architecture? Was it PC that created and sent blu-ray mainstream, once again, being the leaders in the advancement of physical medium? Hell, you need look no further than the R&D costs that Sony entered this generation with and the massive loss th...
I guess the wider audience comment could be debated upon semantics. But as far as risk-taking, hands down Sony always has and always will be the leader in that. With every generation they are taking risks to push this industry further/forward.
@25
No they won't. They'll be wiped clean when the game comes out.
@imallvol
lol Hello Pot, I don't know if you've been properly introduced...? That's Kettle over there that you're directing your comments at.
People really have to get off this "extra joystick" thing. They want to look at the PSPGo like it's a new PSP, when it's actually just an updated version. It's like not PSP2 or something. The problem with adding another joystick would've been compatibility in games. Games would've had to been made different for the regular PSP and the Go because the Go would've had controls set differently. I mean that's a fairly significant change. Just imagine the uproar that would've came if, whe...
Really, I think Sony knew what they were getting into and intended for it to be that way. I mean, seemingly, one would have to be an idiot to think that price point was ideal. No, instead I think they knew what was going on and were setting it at a premium price point to do some type of gradual adoption. Essentially it's the same that Apple did with the iPhone. They released the 3GS (which was essentially the same thing as the 3G iPhone already out) at a premium price. Even now you can get a ...
lol Pretty good analogy there. I don't see why people insist on comparing the PS3 and the PSP Go when deep down they're really aimed at two different markets.
I agree with Cliffbo up there. Granted the PSP Go and the PS3 are both in the Gaming Industry, but the real point here is they do not share the same market per se. The Go is for portable gaming and the PS3 is for at home "hardcore" gaming. I don't think one really eats into the sales of the other. Either you're looking for a portable gaming device or you're looking for a home console. When people go to the store they're not comparing the PSP Go with the PS3. They're comparing the PS...
I have to agree. This is what sequels should be like. This was a great improvement on the first. Even the adventure is proving to be more awesome than the first. Plus they upped stuff like the graphics, they've balanced out the gameplay more this time around, the action is just intense and combine that with the awesome story and cinematics which seamlessly slide right into the gameplay. It's almost like playing a movie.
