I'm surprised FAR CRY 2 didn't make the list. The game had major bugs, including one that didn't let half of the players FINISH THE GAME. Ubisoft didn't fix it until over a year later. And when it did, you'd have to start all over from the beginning (this is a 50+ hour game, bug kicked in around 87%). On top of that the multiplayer still kicks you out of the lobby after every game.
Gears 2 multiplayer was more buggy than Gears 1.
However there are way too many good shooters out there. They could get away with this on Starcraft, Diablo, or WOW because the competition sorta stinks. But a shooter? They're a dime a dozen and many of them are good too. The 360 crowd has their Halo and Gears. The PS3 crowd has their Killzone and Socom. That doesn't even include a whole boatload of other exclusive and multiplat shooters.
As far as I know while growing up playing both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, there were consistently many more competitive tournaments going on for Street Fighter and later Tekken than Mortal Kombat. MK tournaments were far fewer and far less attended. And from what I recall, the MK franchise never made it big outside the United States, while SF and Tekken franchise were pretty popular elsewhere.

Not getting this. Played the Beta and it's too similar to BC2 and MW2 without being better than either. I'm also not getting it because EA has a history of messing things up. BC2's recent patches have caused massive lag as of late. Army of Two 40th Day was garbage online. BC1 had a lot of problems that weren't fixed until a year later.
There are way too many good games coming out this year, especially on PS3, so EA better not screw this one up.
I just hope the controls are more responsive than previous titles in the franchise. The reason why MK franchise was never really accepted by the competitive fighting game community was because it lacked the responsiveness and technical depth in comparison to Tekken or Street Fighter.
When you earn trophies, does the posted time/date reflect when the trophies get synchronized or when they're saved on your PS3? Because if it's the former, then maybe its the synchronization issue.
About every xbox 360 owner I know, including mine, has gotten RROD. I'd say about half of them immediately bought another 360 rather than wait for their warranty service. They did get theirs serviced though, so they ended up with two 360s in the end.

A lot of those scenes remind me of Fear 2 and Cloverfield. After seeing the gameplay from E3 videos, I wasn't as excited as I was when I saw Killzone 3's videos. Not sure why, Crysis 2 seems a bit generic for some reason.
One thing, for sure, that makes me interested in Crysis 2 is the NYC urban environment. Too many shooters avoid common American settings for who knows what reason.
I find it ridiculous when games get churned out year after year (sports games, NFS, COD, Forza, movie-based games, etc) and expect $60 a pop. I am buying GT5 because I know it won't become obsolete by the following year with a sequel.
I just want the game to consistently have cover system or consistently don't have cover system between single player and multiplayer. I did not like Killzone 2's implementation of cover only in single player but not in multiplayer. I have no problems with cover systems in general or lack of cover systems in general. I just don't like it when they mix the two within one game.
I actually don't think it would be fair to the Move players. Separate the lobbies to keep the casual Move players from the more serious players.
My only concern: will there be enough buyers to fill up the multiplayer rooms/lobbies? Nobody bought Army of Two 40th day, I could never find a full lobby despite the online menu stating there is a grand total of 600 players online at any single time.
I just hope those that preach about the evils of piracy aren't downloading MP3s and programs as well. Here's hoping that every piece of software on their computer was purchased and not even shared between two or more computers. And that every MP3 file downloaded was purchased through iTunes.
I'm looking forward to it. I don't mind cut scenes with lengthy dialogue. I just hope it doesn't force me to read a million of different dialogue options to choose during conversation (cough cough Bioware).
Does anyone at Turn 10 actually race with a real race car on a real race track? Because I know the creator of GT5 does.
I'm honestly tired of the NFS rehash every year. The only reason I'd consider buying this one is Criterion Games.
Holy Shit this is amazing. I initially thought LBP2 was just going to be the same rehash from LBP1 (which was a great game btw). But this is taking it on a whole new level.
Go ahead and buy Forza. Fall into the Call of Duty trap and end up buying a new game every year or two.
I prefer to have one racing game that will last me an entire generation. GT5 for me.
In other words, Microsoft's E3 presentation in '09 was a gimmick. What did it demo when it wasn't even a live demo?
They had nothing to show this year so they filled half of their presentation time slot with a circus (literally). I was hoping for more cool stuff regarding Halo Reach and Gears 3. Microsoft is stepping away from what made it great this generation and is simply trying to ride on the Wii's success in the casual market.
