When you say as few launchers as possible you do realize you are advocating for less stores and less stores means less competition. Why it is that everyone one PC suddenly wants socialism when it comes to entertainment?
To be fair N4G is mostly PC commentators who rank stuff in this order PC>Sony>Nintendo>Xbox . That is often reflected in comment voting.
This is just Steam being opportunistic disguised as consumer friendly, maybe Sony will wake up now.
What I've come to realise is PC users hate multiple stores/log in's. How do you square that circle with your politics? Because if everything must be on Steam and under steams system that looks a lot like corporate communism. I don't remember people complaining about multiple stores when you had to get off your backside and go into them to buy your game.
You are essentially asking Sony to make a better game than MGSV. That is risky given were stealth action games are right now.
Are you sure? You have seen their other VR games right? The fact it is on Quest 3 all but confirms it will most like look worse than Alien Isolation. You can't really skimp on graphics when it comes to creating an Alien atmosphere. Stuff like RTX would be essential for creating real time dynamic shadows for added atmosphere. I'd actually prefer a new AVP or Alien game using the latest up to date graphics.
The fact that Xbox still sells 200k units a month in NA is pretty sad. I'm pretty sure if Nintendo or Sony had put no effort in for the last 10 years it would be less than 20k a month. I really don't understand how they are moving that many. Unless they are just giving them away. On top of the fact they have completely sullied the brand and told people to stop buying them. That is even out in the open when I speak to people outside of online console sphere.
To be fair Sony usually know when to let a franchise go dormant, They gave Killzone over 6 different games and it never reached that summit. You end up in a situation like Microsoft if you just keep hammering out Halo and Gears and Forza etc. Microsoft should be smart enough to let them games go.
You have to remember each time games are featured on subscription services a projected calculation has to be made that show its benefits the subscription service holder over the developer/publisher who allows their games on it.
That is why I wouldn't entertain any of these services. If you are a developer/publisher sell your own games, in the end you are only eroding your own power and making the market place less fair and competitive by chasing these short term bungs o...
The basically bought software growth so it would look good on their end of year paperwork for investors.. sad.
It is clear PSVR2 should have taken the stand alone approach with optional PS5 connectivity for those who own a PS5 to get those few premium titles that exist as 95% of the VR titles out there are stand alone quest versions. That would have bridged two markets. I just don't think Sony have the appetite to run another platform outside of the PS5 though.
Changes like not being anti consumer? putting out Alan Wake Remastered on disc but not the sequel?
I'm sure IGN will be completely unbiased covering Xbox going forward.
Seeing as EA now own this franchise wouldn't it make sense for DICE to develop a new Operation Flashpoint game? Battlefield has realism to a certain extent but it isn't exactly "real"
So paying PS+ for multiplayer doesn't keep servers alive for first party games.. interesting.
Would you just prefer 1 launcher on PC? That sounds a lot like China.
I wonder how Valve feel about Sony essentially tunneling out of their walled garden. At some point it is all baby steps to eventually undercut them.
Yeah Microsoft would tell you the start menu has had 1 billions clicks on Windows 11 to let you know it is beating Windows 10 when the reality is something else. 10,000 concurrent steam users is enough for me to extrapolate there aren't millions playing this on console either. Lets not forget the motivation to bring this to PS5 is already an admission of poor player count. I'd prefer it is Microsoft would just say nothing when it comes to numbers as it makes them look stupid while try...
Microsoft haven't actually done anything other than announce a team.
Can N4G adopt a policy of games leaving subscription services as not being a new story, it is just spam at this point.
