This cycle of VR is clearly over for PSVR2, its as good as discontinued along with the recent news from Meta and Apple regarding their attempts. I liked PSVR1 but when the AAA studios stopped making content it was over for me. I think VR has to go away for another 10-20 years and then see where the tech is. Right now it is being dragged through the mud to a slow death, hardware and software wise. PSVR1 sold 10 million and PSVR2 struggled to sell 1 million, that is a severe drop off. It would ...
Steam Deck is also incapable of running the latest Sony games now.
Sony are not going to make a new dedicated handheld again, If they did it would basically be a low powered SKU of main the console which would just end up hindering development. Multiple SKU's didn't work out for Microsoft it won't work out for Sony either. I don't like the Portal for what is represents but it probably makes the most sense for Sony right now.
Agreed. Original Diablo sold a lot on PS1 and had some enhancements too. Diablo II could have been ported to PS2 back in the day. Missed opportunity.
At this point Phil Spencer has told more lies than Peter and seems to get a free ride in comparison.
Maybe it would be smarter to just play the free stuff on Epic rather than pay for a Microsoft rental service that gets removed from your library.
Fatshark's illogical relationship with Microsoft killed off the potential of both Vermintide games.
Activision was looking to sell because they were already past their peak and Microsoft is king of buying stuff that is past its peak.
Here's an idea, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Games and Movies just need to move back to selling products on their own and stop asking people to pay for 95% of stuff they don't want. Let products stand on their own and stop asking people to subsidize everything. It is like welfare for the rich being funded by working class. This model is not sustainable.
Given the state of the Indiana Jones IP right now, thanks to Disney. I'm not holding my breath on this one.
Given the current state of world economics and PC hardware costs it is pretty reasonable to assume PC piracy has only become larger. Piracy on PC is just as easy as buying but without letting go of your money.
Does Microsoft have any originality left in their business portfolio?
Yes he is wrong. Steam numbers are always a good indicator. The mistake is conflating every PC in world as some high end gaming rig. Steam survey often shows the number of "high end" gamers meaning the same games you get on console is easily dwarfed each generation by consoles. In fact it's never even close in terms of player count. Sony and Microsoft know that hence the reason they put games on Steam. If Steam or PC became a threat they would stop. Why give up being a platform ...
Enough of this free media reach around's for subscription services. It is sad and pathetic.
Rich has been shilling for Microsoft for quite some time. It has been pretty evident in his decision making. In fact he struggles to say anything negative about Xbox. He said the Xbox One X was a good console.
I'd love it if DF stopped doing sponsored content for Microsoft.
Yeah, They like to pretend Steam killed PC piracy, did it hell. It is bigger than its ever been. Also easier.
So a fire technology less impressive than Far Cry 2 16 years later. ˆᴥˆ
@fr0sty "Removing the multiplayer paywall would be a great move, though. It would force Sony to do the same. They have subscription services to justify paying for Plus now, so they don't need to paywall multiplayer anymore to cover server costs and all that, most people will want PS+ anyway just to get the games."
It is a complete non move when they are moving to paywall everything under gamepass, The cost is just built into that instead.
Considering Astro Bot makes extensive use of the controller features and haptics putting it on PC doesn't seem like a wise idea. Also similar games like Sackboy and Ratchet and Clank didn't do well on PC either. So a bit of a slap in the face to PSVR2 users either way
