The 360 will continue to sell more software than the PS3 and Wii. The PS3 will probably sell more hardware than the 360 by the end of 2009. It will not matter though.
Who sells the most hardware alone is not as important as the software to hardware ratio.
The Ps3 could sell 50 million with a software ratio of 3. Meaning software sales of 150 million.
The 360 could sell 32 million with a software ratio of 7. Meanin...
Because Microsoft admitted the RROD problem and have fixed it. Anyone with an older machine that gets the problem will have it fixed for free. There is no need to replace it.
On the other hand. Sony, despite losing a class-action lawsuit over the PS2's DRE. Never admitted the problem. Also the free replacement/repair of PS2's only applied to America. Europeans as usual did not get justice which is why they bought so many.
There are only about 38 million PS2 owners out there.
Many people bought between 2 and 5 PS2's because the DVD laser burned out after only a year.
