Every (good) story has certain factors, like the risk of death. If you take out the risk of death, the whole entire thing because uninteresting. Don't get me wrong, I do love some Pokemon. But they need to change the whole thing.

No no, they just need to throw out the traditional Pokemon story all together. Without playing Black & White, I can easily assume that we'll get our choice of THREE starter Pokemon, and basically start our journey towards becoming the Pokemon League Champion by defeating [however many] Gym Leaders in order to get there.What the franchise needs, is a fresh new look at the entire game.

To be fair, the real Sephiroth died when Cloud threw him into the Life Stream at the Mako Reactor. What you fight at the end of the game is a clone of Sephiroth.
