Shouldn't they be worried about nukes, chemical weapons, starvation, real-life prostitution, vivid public executions, unfair healthcare, homeless people, prices going up, and anything else that might actually cause issues in the real world? 1) Intolerable security setting out of the box: It's a good thing to have security, don't get me wrong. But to have an OS spam you every couple of minutes to allow/prevent applications kind of gets annoying.
2) Most users don't give a crap about multiple versions of Windows. They just want their machine to start up fine and just work. Simple as that. It gets tiring having to tweak Vista on a constant basis to just get it to work.

Remakes tend to become awful if a different team aside from the one who created it touches the project. In reality, there haven't been much remakes by Square to judge whether or not their remakes will ruin a franchise. They have, however, done plenty of spinoffs which are great if not decent (Crysis Core, FFX2). I think that as long as they stick to the exact storylines things will be fine. I loved the first Gears simply because of the fact that the gameplay was amazing, the graphics were amazing, and the co-op mode was great. But, in reality, the game lacked depth in terms of story.
