Just like Gears of War 2 won't come out for the PS3 because it's "exclusively" slated for the 360, MGS4 won't come out for 360. Technical reasons play a big part in this. If it does come sometime down the line, you can expect the game in two years or so (due to exclusivity) which, by then, would be a waste of time being that everyone would have played it, it would probably be a waste of money, manpower and time. It's like porting Bioshock now to the PS3... yea, it's going to get ...
Slowly, but surely, Nintendo will begin to lose - if it's not already losing - it's grip in this generation of gaming. A lot has to do with the fact that they are not focused on appealing to the vastness of hardcore gamers that permeate this industry.
When it comes down to it, Nintendo had nothing to show at this E3, aside from handful of peripherals, besides "Animal Crossing"; there was absolutely no news, or hints, regarding big first party titles like a long overdue...
Because of Blu-ray, as per storage is concerned, PS3 is far more capable than the 360. How can people like you, in all honesty, sit there and degrade the PS3 as if it doesn't have feats that blowout the 360? Less money? That's now. The 360 had the same price tag for a while not to mention the Live subscription fee (which, in reality, comes out more expensive in the end) - they've had more sku's than god knows who; Better exclusives? How can you even say that when SONY has games Ratchet,...
It shows Microsoft's greatness in a business sense. You want to sit there and disagree then fine with me. It's your opinion. But with Microsoft holding exclusive right to things like RockBand and obtaining IP's only thought to be for Sony really shows that they have a great business sense.
I'm a PS3 fan to the tea, dude. And I can admit when something is a "good" move or not. Yea they 'copied' a lot of PS Eye ideas and Home/Wii features, but they did it to attract...
You do realize that Final Fantasy is one of the biggest IP's in gaming, right? Not to mention that devout fans are not only Japanese, as you claim, but are international. This is an excellent move by Microsoft. They have showed us, and have shut the mouths of plenty PS3 fanboys, that they are capable of staying in this generation of gaming. I've said it before, Microsoft always had the potential to be great. And this E3, whether or not you fanboys want to realize it, they showed that the...
apt-get :D
Hmm... then you should talk to these guys for false information:
http://www.gamepro.com/micr... Read down.
But yea, you're right, after 'researching' a little more on Infinity Ward's site, they do say "We do not have dedicated, hosted, no-client servers on PS3 or 360". That was my mistake for taking GamePro as a reliable source. Good catch.
You MUST be talking about games like Devil May Cry 4, Burnout: Paradise,COD4 (which is much more stable and is on dedicated servers on the PS3) and I could have sworn people preferred the controls of the PS3 with regards to GTAIV.. and I know the 360 fanboys must have LOVED the texture pop-ins. Get over yourself, dude. Which 9/10 3rd party titles are you referring to?
lol, seriously, Bladestar, you're a funny guy. Your conjured facts are one in a million. You should really ...
I love my PS3 and all, but I really think some people are counting their chickens a little too early. Little Big Planet, without a freakin' doubt, looks absolutely astounding. But NONE of us have played it to judge it's 'greatness'. How can everyone sit there and label a game "the best IP in years" when the game hasn't even been released? Are we judging games based on graphics alone? Look at Too Human... everyone thought it'd be great... after the impressions from many journali...
And how is that a good thing again?
In response to your comment, I didn't mean sales as per total sales to date. I was referring to the monthly hardware sales. :D
In regards to your question, for my 360, I am looking forward to Gears2, Fable2, Tales of Vesperia, Last Remnant. I can't really say anything about Alan Wake because, in all honesty, I haven't seen any actual gameplay footage as of yet. The 360 DOES have a pretty 'good' lineup. It's not _solid_ , but it's good. It has a good amount of JRPG's releasin...
It's funny to see people like you question everyone else's commitment to a single console because of THEIR personal preferences to gaming. Maybe you should consider learning to read things in context as they are. I in no way belittled Microsoft in any way in my statement. Re-read it. Fanboys like you get touchy when, as a gamer, I give my criticisms to a console that HAS plenty potential and hasn't released anything for me SINCE 2007 (as you said). What did PS3 give me in 07? Um... jee.....
people like you deserve not to have the ability to post. You're obviously an avid 360 fanboy with no respect to gaming period. Sony throw in the towel? Do you people realize the breakthroughs in console gaming that's occuring due to Sony's stride this generation with the development of the cell processor and RSX? I'm no fanboy, but I won't allow retards like you sit here and try to belittle a console for it's name.
Sony will not throw in the towel for many reasons... financ...
I sincerely hope that Microsoft decides to showcase something interesting at this E3. Fanboys here might think that everything is fine and dandy for the 360, but with what Sony has up their sleeve next year, things are just looking gloomy. If you all want to sit there and be delusional and _act_ as if everything is fine on the 360 side, then be my guest. But I am kind of upset that I have my 360 here collecting dust and only have Gears2 and Fable2 to look forward to in this entire year of ...
Hard to make a game on linux? You DO know that graphics cards only supported OpenGL at one point, right? It's not until recently that manufacturers like ATI and NVIDIA began to support both Direct3D and OpenGL. The only reason that Direct3D is used on a wider scale has more to do with the dominance of the Windows operating system in the gaming market. OpenGL uses a standard DLL with export functions... which means that using it is just like using a regular Windows API. That means it has a ...
Sony will never provide feature this gen that Xbox has. How will Sony match XNA games? Out of the box, the PS3 is an Open Platform. Meaning that you can install open source operating systems such as BSD and Linux on it. You really think that Sony didn't do this for a reason? To be able to provide users the with ability to use the actual hardware, openly, and allow the compilation of applications on the PS3 using the Cell architecture? Come on. Providing users, and programming aficionado...
I couldn't agree with you more. Bubbles for you, my friend, for having common sense and being realistic.
to release this patch when it's ready. Don't care if it's next week or next month... I've waited over two years for this patch and waiting a little longer for a perfected service is not going to hurt me any.
Although they are now putting their foots down as per features, Sony might still have some fighting to do even after the major updates. The problem lies in Xbox360 having these features for over three years already. Sony, in order to even be able to compete, needs to implement 'new' features that both consoles _don't_ have in order to attract outside users and to gain bigger impressions. I'm not saying that the features they are coming out with are useless (god, no. These are features we'...
Kid Icarus's rumored development was shot down today by Reggie after their E3 presentation during a G4 interview. So no... Kid Icarus is not in development; had it been, some sort of indication would have been said (as he indicated with Zelda and Mario).
I love Mario and Zelda, don't get me wrong, but how much of these titles can they keep regurgitating to the core gamers before it just becomes tiring? Nintendo is lacking in third party titles. That's their weak point. The fa...
