I always give the PsN the benefit of the doubt and give it a try because I take peoples word that its gotten better.

Since it's free the users treat it like a cheap free feature making the community seem dull and not even fun to engage unless its MW2 and even then you can get put into some micless games.
XBL is on top of its game bringing new features and keeping the community strong making online games more enjoyable to play.

The PsN would make the game boring even when it has no online feature<<yeah it can do everything including that.
On XBL if I'm grinding for some XP and I grind for hours to make sure my characters are in tip top shape for any battle, party chatting makes it less of a long boring grind
RPGs are vast especially Final Fantasy. If I get stuck on a part I can ask a friend for advice and vice versa.

Getting the 360 version because I would rather commit suicide then trying to grind out 50hours of RPG on my ps3 the silence would is unbearable. Without some party chatting and achievement racing with my buds it would take away.

Valve is a solo independent developer with a small team.
Valve puts there games out on platforms that will implement what they are trying to do the best.
The Ps3 could run laps around L4D's graphical limit but graphics aren't the case.
If Valve is anything like me they'd know a game like L4D wouldn't survive on the PsN...you'd have micless uncoordinated drones, most games would be pick up games due to the Ps3's lack of a centralized invite system.

Right I also know there slow to load and is like 5X slower to compare to friends and even slower to compare while in game.
Achievements also weren't patched in a year+ later leaving a years worth of games unpatched for trophies.
I pay for what I don't get on the PsN and that's an active community with life and features that make connectivity quick and efficient.
