Last Remnant sucked from a running standpoint.
The framerate was just fail.
I'm willing to put money down that alot of people talk about it without even playing it for a couple days, because if they did more walk than talk they'd know that it was a very good JRPG that stood away from the gay cliche characters and themes of most JRPGs.
The Last Remnant without those terrible framerate drops could of been a better JRPG installing to the HDD helps somewhat....
Hard to put a rank on any of them.
I played them for too long and enjoyed them so much that the level of enjoyment cannot be ranked either.
FF8's futuristic atmosphere and the SeeDs, Seifer,collecting Adamantine for the Lionheart, very beautiful women characters from Rhinoa to Quistis.....and last but not least the badass overpowered Zantetsuken.
It was the only FF were I loved every damn character.
....and so does the countdown to Mass Effect 2.

I'd recommend renting first to see if it is your thing the $60 bucks could go towards something much better around the time frame.
The combat is painstaking and is a step below Infinite Undiscovery.

NO more elevators, much smoother and consistent framerate, combat has been overhauled and is very fluid, better inventory system, better detailed worlds.
Graphics have been upgraded but the bigger picture is even greater.
