Oh yeah, and it's been cracked already, so it's useless anyway. Ugh, management at these companies just doesn't get it...
The only DRM I am willing to accept on the PC anymore is Steam, because it gives me added functionality, and I DON'T HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY. Digital download is the way to go now, no more need for DVDs in the tray.
To the bureaucrats of Ubisoft, you have lost me as a customer, and until you remove this uneccesary, obtrusive DRM, I hope enjoy not getting my dollars and cents!
The only improvement that can be made at this point is to cut the DRM out now.
Activsion lost me as a fan a long time ago with their constant sequels to their franchises and now all this drama. Treat your employees right and things like this wouldn't happen. Especially that whole bouncer/bullying debacle when this first started. I wouldn't be surpised if almost everyone at Infinity Ward disbanded and found work elsewhere.
Activision, and now Ubisoft (DRM crap) and even EA (C&C4 and its DRM)are starting to fall off my radar. At least there are other gr...
GFWL here in Canada still has the standard increments 500, 1000 etc... same with the 360. Hmmm, so not North America, just the USA.
Maybe now they will release a patch to remove this draconian DRM, so those of us who have refused to buy it might actually consider it.
Hmm, still no fix to remove draconian DRM.
I find it extremely hard to justify paying for these old titles, when many of them are already free to play online. And I'm not talking MAME here (but I guess that is an option), but many publishers have simply released, in some shape or form, these original titles on different websites that allow for free play. Atari has a few games on their website, I know for sure.
How can I justify spending that much money on old games that are free? What Microsoft should have done, is made...
Another crippled PC game. Sigh, you disappoint me on a regular basis Activision. You, Ubisoft and EA. Starcraft was made for LAN, me and my buddies regularly played LAN games often, it was fun. These publishers are killing PC gaming.
Bleh, looks pretty mediocre to me. Ubisoft has just been disapointing me over and over again. I loved when Advanced warfighter 1 and 2 came out, because I got 2 versions of each. Grin made two excellent PC only versions, and the console versions where great as well.
Now, bleh, probably going to be stuck with Ubitard's damn crappy internet DRM bs. And probably no DirectX 10/11, or better textures etc... optimization for PC. Will probably pass (if the DRM is there, definite pass)...
Ahh Doom II, such a great game. Would be great to play it again....
However, I hope that they do a better job of porting the game over then the last version, it was horrendous. Looked like an emulated game instead of a modern source port of the original. No widescreen support, no 3D acceleration, no higher resolution textures, nothing, other than splitscreen co-op. Not even a higher resolution (looked like the game was still rendering at around 320x240 to 640x480, bleh).

Ubisoft lost me as a customer with the implementation of this draconian DRM, the lack of refinement and PC specific enhancement with their console to PC ports, as well as the inflated prices they use. Same thing with EA's Command and Conquer 4 (a series that I own every game), similar DRM in place (that they deny is DRM). And Activision lost me buying Call of Duty MW2 with their inflated price and crappy matchmaking/lack of dedicated servers and mod support/also not enough PC refinement.
This doesn't sound very good to me, sounds like they slapped a PC DVD sticker on the Xbox game and called it a day. They didn't even both with DirectX 10/11, higher resolution textures and all those other bells and whistles. Add to that Ubisoft's new DRM, this will be a no purchase from me.
Ubisoft, your lack of proper treatment of your PC crowd has lost you one paying customer (and no, I won't be pirating. Maybe I'll borrow the Xbox 360 version from a friend, but I won't pay)....
I don't support Ubisoft anymore, they have gone too far over the line with that new DRM of theirs, and their lack of decent PC specific enhancements and jacked up prices (like Activision) means no purchase from me. Plenty of other PC developers and publishers to support.
This is the way it should be with all Steam games (and all PC games for that matter). Steam itself is DRM, there is no need to install another DRM routine on top of it. All Steam games shouldn't have extra DRM.
Nice move on their part! Now, if Ubisoft would just drop their new DRM...
Definitely wouldn't mind snagging a key for this game, good stuff!
Yeah, well Steam is very good at fudging their numbers for the top 10 bestsellers to get more people to see the game.
I think they go by price, not by volume. I refuse to believe AC2 is up there legitimately, because CoD: MW2 has been a top 10 bestseller since it came out. How many people do you know bought that game?
The game I want to see made is Star Trek: Elite Force III. The original was an awesome game up until the last boss, very fun, very artistic and it did something with the Star Trek license I thought we would never see: a real First Person shooter. It was like playing Quake but in a Star Trek setting, with great voice acting from the actual cast of Voyager. The sequel was also fairly decent, much better graphics and fairly decent design, but it was rushed. Elite Force II had some of the best gr...
A GTA IV, one of the most expensive games ever made, and one of the games I paid the least for. Thank you Steam!
Hmm, I wonder if we are getting different versions of the game on PC again? Grin did a good job with them last time around, but they went bankrupt right?
While I completely agree, 100% in fact, that going multi-platform probably has affected Crysis 2 in away that will negate its true potential on the PC, I wouldn't discredit them completely. I am quite positive that the PC version will feature better effects, and we should be treated to higher resolution textures and, hopefully, 3D models as well. This is Crytek we are talking about here, not Ubisoft. I hold them to a higher standard than other developers, all of their games have been great in...
