Well, I don't know who thought it was going to look like the CGI trailer. IMO, it's too dark...80% of the textures seem to be covered in shadow, so it's difficult to say just how detailed/high-res the textures (although from what I can see from the other 20%, not very deatiled...). And if the 360 was the same price as the Wii, it would be the #1. Heck, the PS3 was the same price as the Wii, it would be also be #1! And you know why? It's called brand loyalty...Sony have lot's of it...and it's the only thing that have kept them alive when their consoles aren't selling.

The PS3 doesn't have many good games IMO. At least games that I can play on it NOW. It definately has it's awesome games, but they're just not out yet.

Too true Razer. In fact, thinking about my list of 360 games I'll be getting this year, the only FPS on it is Halo 3 and Bioshock (which is half RPG). The only 360 shooter I have at the moment is Gears of War. And look at this list of highly anticipated PS3 games: Killzone 2, Unreal 3, Haze, MGS 4...all shooting games.

This looks awesome but...
It still doesn't quite look as good as the announcement trailer, mostly, because there hardly seems to be any bump-map on the masterchief's armour. But still, at least we know the single player DEFINATELY won't look like the multiplayer. It's a shame we won't be able to shoot people online with these glorious graphics, but after going from the Halo 3 Beta to Gears of War, meh...Gear's can take it's graphics and shove off!

MGS and FF and NOT 1st party game. They are 3rd party. Sony has nothing to do with them. This is actually why the original PS succeeded: it wasn't because Sony studios had an overhelming catalogue of first party exclusives lined up; it was because there were loads of good 3rd party games. Wipeout,Tekken, FF7, e.t.c. Most of them never made it onto other consoles. It's because of this that Sony now has the money for first party studios.

I agree. People talk of the Killzone2 demo and hope the game will look that good. Yet, Gears of War had more detail than the trailer. It wasn't in-game, so you can't say it's impressive in-game graphically, and as a CGI trailer it was even less impressive. (Compare it too the Halo 3 CGI trailer for example).
