You can obviously see the they've taken out the bump-maping, and Bungie said their artists preferred the "flat" texture. But still, even tohough the model is the same (which I believe) it just doesn't look as sharp or detailed as the original trailer. I'm sure if they added the bump mapping back, it still wouldn't look as good as the original trailer.
To all the people who keep saying "they're not counting PS3s"...I would like to point out that the article specifically states "stand alone players" and is referring to this catagory. including the PS3 would be unfair. Doesn't that reinforce the arguement that PS3 is just a Blu-ray player? And even if it was, it still wouldn't be counted, because it isn't a "stand alone" player (i.e. it plays games as well). Most people I know of who have PS3's don't own any B...

I was talking to a friend who was debating whether to get a PS3 or 360. I told him to wait for the PS3 price drop. Guess I was wrong. At least his choice is simple now.

You obviously didn't read the article were they said 90% of the games production is on the campaign (I think it was 90%...). And that if you added every single multiplayer map together, it would only be a small portion of one of the small single player stages.

This game used to be on every PS3 owner's "list of games that pwn the 360". The irony's actually quite funny.
Sounds like Bungie really are pulling out all the stops this time. Hopefully, their won't be any weapons used by other characters that you can't use. Jackal shields? Hunter fuel rods?
Of all the new featues mentioned, that's the one thing that appeals to me the most. It's about bloody time.
Remember as well, that Microsft are promoting games for windows, so if you want to stick with PC, it's still good for them.
On the topic of PC conversions, I'm really chuffed that PC Gears is getting all that extra crap, and all we get are a couple of rubbish maps. I'm definately going mail that disc back to Epic in two distinct pieces when Halo 3 comes out.

Interesting. Crackdown with a moral story. Sounds nice, but the game looks a bit pants. The graphics are good, but the design...reminds me of Shadowrun for some reason.
I agree with him. The 360 isn't a 10 year product. I don't think it ever was. 2-3 years from now, we'll have the next Xbox, which will make the PS3 look like a NES. It'll be interesting to see if Sony stick to their guns and runs the PS3 through a "10 year cycle" or whether they rush their next console out like the PS3, because of Microsoft.
And by the way, now that Sony have finally done a press conference that didn't end in tears, are they going to go staight ...
