PEOPLE DON'T BUY GAMES JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE EXCLUSIVES! They buy CONSOLES because they have exclusive games on them! Don't you see how stupid you sound!?
No-one says "well, I need to buy an exclusive game...aww, Halo's the only one, oh well...". Stop deluding yourselves! People buy those games because they like them or they hear it being hyped.
Remember that there are plenty of 3rd party games on the 360 and hey, guess what.....
I hate to burst your bubble but publishers take the pre-order projections very seriously. How much they invest in marketing can change based on the projected sale numbers and pre-orders is a good way of estimating that.
If a game sells 10 more copies in the shops for everyone one pre-order, than 100 pre-orders is 1000 copies sold in the shops. That's how publishers see it.
And by the way, you don't need to pay anything to pre-order. pre-order online, mon...
FFS. Can't you fanboys accept that Gears 3 will outsell UC3? It's fact. That doesn't mean Gears 3 is BETTER than UC3, but you already know it will outsell. It is a know FACT that XBox 360 was the highest software uptake of any system. All the multiplatform games sell most on the 360. And the few exclusives that have sold most this gen are on the 360 (Halo, and funnily enough Gears...)
Has any of the previous Uncharted games outsold any of the previous gear...
Well, it's gona be a little confusing using a component cable to play games in HD but not being able to watch Blu-Ray movies with the same component cable. I hope they communicate that well.
Still, this is good news, better than not being able to use component at all.
Obviously if you use HDMI then no probs.
lol, I love the reply SuperStroley:
"That's a well worded arguement you have there but I'm not even going to pretend to have read it and say: HDMI IS TEH WIN! BCOSE ITZ DIGITALZ!!!!!!!"
A comment you said earlier:
"How is that a downgrade? HDMI is still there and it's better than component."
It is downgrade because the PS3 has less functionality. It won't affact it's image rendering capabilities but it's one less feature the PS3 has therefore it's a downgrade. And like it or not, being able to use HD with a component cable is usefull.
The video doesn't say/show anything new.
Some things for people to remember:
PC graphics ALWAYS been a head. When a new console is announced, PC games come out at the same time that have the same graphical showcase. It's ALWAYS been like that so it's nothing new.
And as much as people say they should wait for when consoles can deliver a bigger graphical leap, remember that it's not all graphics: more power also means b...
Yeah, to be fair I haven't played any of the Theif games but I've always heard good things about them.
But I still say there were alot of games in the past that were suppose to be "stealth" based and ended up half stealth half action. There are always exceptions obviously :)
I think it's a bit insensitive to say people who buy 2nd hand games or use rented services aren't helping the industry. Not that ARE helping but don't forget the extortionate amount we get charged for games: £40/$40 a pop? I'm sure there's a good reason it costs so much but I'm yet to see anyone explain exactly how that money is broken down. I know devs don't get alot of that £40 cut. Remember that some Hollywood blockbusters cost alot more to make th...
With exception that it might be good.
"Dishonored is the antithesis of a edge-of-your-seat roller-coaster ride,"
Finally!
Playing through whole game just using stealth? Pfft, heard it all before. Developers always say they're gona do that but end up coping out and making another bland 3rd person action game with a week melee system and scripted stealth kills.
So let's see of they can pull it off.
Aww, you one of those kids that like to say stupid things just to get attention?
It's Hip Hop Gamer...

I would like to point out that PS3's MLAA was also done through software. It was possible on PS3 because it has 3 SPUs but MLAA is software, not hardware.
When you see games that look better than it's precedessors or competition it's primary because of the techniques the graphics programmers use. It's not like the developers slowly turn the "awesome graphics" nob up over time :p

I'm not sure if I agree with all those. I have done QA and although I ended up hating it, it was for a different reason: I wanted to move on and get into design (which I did :)
Firstly, I've never had the problem that "I can't turn it off" I dream of the game every now and then but I never really think about it at home, even when I tell myself "Well I'll think it over the weekend" I never do!
I also didn't find it...
"God knows how many times I've gotten stuck, but the fact that I know it's completable (thanks to testers) always keeps me going. But what if you didn't know if it was your own flaws or the video game that was keeping you stuck?"
That's more a design thing then anything to do with testing.
@DA_Shredder
A thousand times NO. QA have absolutely NO say is what get's put in the finished game. Developers simply DO NOT listen to QA feedback and opinions: they're only there to find bugs, and if the coder/designer get's enough pressure from a producer he/she will fix it.
The sad thing is that developers these days will bend over backwards to please the focus test group but completly ignore QA. Fair enough, I get that QA is packed with...
I reckon Sam Worthington has got so many roles recently because he is the real-life equivilant of this video game character design.
@omi25p It's the twisted logic of a fanboy.
@Solderone It is bad from a business perspective. One game with a high sales number will cost less then developing 10 games that cost the same to make but sell only a fraction of MS's exclusive. That one game will have a higher profit margin then the multitude :)
