Fear not, these things tend to be made by marketing monkeys who usually don't care if what they're presenting is completely different from the game.

+ bubble for mentioning the 90s cartoon series. And yes, the intro music for that was awesome :)

Very well said. Problem is, most of the criticisms I've heard (including those on N4G, oddly enough :S) are make alot of sense to me. Even weirder, most of the articles criticizing the critics, don't show they understand what the critics are complaing about in the first place. All they can talk about is artist not bending over backwards to please everyone. I know that customers are not always right, I'll be the first person to say that, but I also know we live in a balanced wo...

@CAPSLOCKFURY

"Not everything you read on a journalism site is fact, especially when it's "gaming journalism".

I think a more accurate thing to say is "very few things you read from journalists are fact", which is, sadly, fact. It's a shame people forget to question the first piece of information that enters their head.

Why the f*ck would they NOT get a refund if EA are stupid enough to pay out? They would truly be idiots if they didn't!

OMG! Why didn't I think of that? YOU GUYS ARE GENIUSES!!! I'll just watch it on Youtube!!!

Hang on, I can watch any game ending on youtube...I'M FREEEEEEE!!!

Fair enough. I haven't played the game and I don't intend to, so I can't say how well all those 3 choices integrate with your previous actions. From what I understand in one ending all your team mates are stranded on a planet: that to me, is an example of not having closure. Sure, you might call that tough luck, maybe even realism, and you can make up whatever happens to them, but typically you don't want to be filling in holes with your imagination by the end of a saga. T...

The store rakes in loads of money from second hand game sales that the publishers and devs won't ever see. Dev studios close down because of shops like Game and Gamestop. People loose jobs everywhere. It's life. it's a competition. Deal with it.

What? No-one's asking for a happy fluffy bunny ending...everyone is saying that the ending was rushed, provided no closure and made the rest of the story pointless...all those difficult, emotional, dark choices you made because you're in a war were rendered meaningless because the ending was rushed. Perhaps you should attempt to understand what people are saying when you read their comments.

@Godmars290

I agree. I'm begining to question why Bioware are so applauded as story tellers. I read the hype, how they want the player to have an emtional connection through their own choices e.t.c but when I hear about the actual finished product, it seems miles behind. I actually haven't played that many Bioware games, because they tend to fail to grab me in the first couple of hours of gameplay (including ME) but it seems, predictably, that they tend to screw up...

I agree that you can't achieve an emotionally powefull game by using movie techniques: I for one find emotionally moving films are rare anyway.

But, I don't think that makes cutscense ineffective. It is a bit pants when you are interrupted every 2 secs to watch a wall fall, but that is bad use of cutscenes IMO. Games where the cutscene comes at the end of the level tends to be more effective to me, because it feels more like a reward, and you can take a break, but i...

And apparently he gave Tree of Life a perfect score. Everybody I know who's watched the film says it's rubbish: and that includes the pretentious movie loving arty types.

People get it wrong. It's up to you to decided if somenoe's opinion matters to you or not. He might be a brilliant writer and intellectual but that doesn't make him right about everything. Infact, being wrong makes him human :) (and subsequently, believing his opinion is always right ...

FFS! I'm tired of people moaning about BC. Why would you need it? If you want to hold to your old games and still play them, then keep your PS3/360. And I'm perfetly happy leaving old games behind to play new ones. Sure, I still play old games I enjoy, but if I can't play them any more, too bad, I'll miss 'em, but I'll also move on and play something else. It's part of life FFS.

Ever heard of a game called Otogi on the Xbox? One of my favour...

Lol, can't help laughing at the die-hard fans who insist on defending "teh Cell" when they have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. Face it, you brought into a marketing tag line when Sony hyped the cell. I don't blame Sony, it's their job to sell things and spout bullsh t, I just feel sorry for you guys and your pointless loyality to a microchip.

Here's an idea: Why don't you guys just trust Sony eh? If Sony reckons the cell is...

@Maj0r

"DLC announced before release = cut content"

Exactly. Cut content that would never make the disc release = DLC.

So, do you guys actually know how long it takes to make a decent piece of DLC? Longer then you guys give the developers. DLC always tends to be content that was originally CUT from the game. "Cut" means exactly that: gone, ka-poof, vanished, never to see the light of day ever again. Remember your favo...
