Holy sh!tballs!
A PPU enables incredible acceleration of physics with little to no impact on the game's performace. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.
Physics are extremely important to games now. That is irreversible and undeniable.
Alright!
So now we have:
ATI / AMD
nVidia / AGEIA
I think now, Intel should purchase nVidia...anyone agree?
Hah!
Funny how Toshiba is trying to do the same Trojan-horse strategy of sticking an HD drive in their product like Sony did with blu-ray and the PS3.
Unfortunately, their laptop line doesn't sell like videogame consoles do.
3rd person is good for situational awareness. I like it.
I mean....I wouldn't bother getting this because it still boasts the aesthetics of a cardboard box.
However....a PS2-laptop could be EXTREMELY slim and would be really fun to have....and it would weigh 3 pounds or less. Probably also with an ethernet port, slot-loading optical drive, built-in hard drive to support games like FF XI, a nice little LCD screen...
*EDIT*
Although, the PSP pretty much fulfills that role anyways, minus the right thumbstick.
Boring.
The thing still weighs the same. In fact....isn't it heavier?
I work videogames retail, and I am ashamed to have the Golden Compass on display on my wall.
Very seriously ashamed.
Nearly every person who has bought it has told me that it sucks horribly, and even their kids don't like it.
Also, I had a 10 year-old come into my store and yell "MOVIE GAMES SUCK.....THEY ARE A MOCKERY!!!!"
It was the best moment of my working life.
lol
Wow....holograms now? Holy crap!
That's quite impressive.
I like the throttling feature, but will that affect gameplay at all? Is there gonna be some kind of lag or hitch in the game's framerate as the processor kicks on?
I also like the OS-independent internet access thing. That could prove to be very handy.
All in all, I guess it's a step in the right direction, and a nice piece of engineering as well!
Oh and also, bitstream is used by people who have TOSLink (fiber optic cable) audio connection.
TOSLink connections carry audio data via extremely small data packets and are not capable of transmitting the larger amount of data that lossless formats such as DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD require.
These bandwidth limits mean that TOSLink can only transmit 2 channels of uncompressed LPCM audio.
So therefore, why are people worried about bitstreaming something tha...
Notice how I said CLOSED SPACE.
I guarantee that you will drastically shorten the lifespan of ANY electronic device that is used on a constant basis within a CLOSED environment.
That'll never happen.
lol...people think the PS3 doesn't resemble a game machine enough as it is....your little idea would ruin the image of the PS3 (as a game machine) completely beyond all shadow of a doubt.
If you store and operate ANY electronic device INSIDE a CLOSED SPACE cabinet, then you are a grade-A certified dumb*ss.
That's all I have to say about that.
Why the hell do you need TrueHD and DTS HD when you can just output uncompressed Linear PCM 5.1 or 7.1 which is available on all Blu-ray films?
Most people cannot even BEGIN to tell the difference anyways.
What I'm saying is....if you've got an amp that can handle TrueHD and DTS HD, it most likely has an HDMI passthrough as well.
In which case....you should just make it easy on yourself and use HDMI and the LPCM uncompressed audio.
Words on the scream?
lol
Unfortunately this game SUCKS because of moments like this.
That T-Rex should have SMASHED through your cover and knocked your the F*CK out.
Poor game design and underutilization of the 360 and PS3's capability.
Employees in Hollywood Video Gamecrazy / Blockbuster Gamerush stores don't know anything regarding future price drops.
They aren't told anything by anyone. Unless he's got a Sony contact, then there's no way he could know about any price drops.
In fact, management of those stores isn't even told about any price drops until they are about to occur....the same day or a few days before.
Well....I hate the Unreal Engine, but I'm glad they're introducing gore that is worthy of being part of a WWII game.
All WWII developers need to sit down and watch Saving Private Ryan before the try and start any development work.
Do you have any idea how much T.L.C. goes into the design and functions of Apple products?
You do know that you are mostly paying for design innovations rather than the tech inside, right?
I love Apple products. They are gorgeous, hip, stylish, functional, powerful, and worth every penny spent.
EDIT - oh, and they're RELIABLE (looks at windows machines with a sideways glance)
