I so wish there was a slightly dumbed down version for we console gamers :( Fine if the best version is on PC, but I would have like to play and I don't do PC!

Yeah why?

Escape in necessary, but some of those MMOs seem to suck a lot of people's life without them even noticing!

If it is trying to copy bits of Half Life 2 (the game that spawned most of these "resistance" type games), then I may be interested again! I played 1, didn't bother with 2.

I agree. An escape world is only that and you can't stay there forever, so eventually the stuff you are avoiding comes back.

And AMAZINGLY they don't want money!

Just giving advice!

I'm sorry to hear that! It is truly amazing how many people do suffer anxiety and depression and we never realise it because they don't feel like they can say anything, or don't even know they are suffering it.

People you assume are having great lives or are so 'with it' can suddenly just kill themselves, leaving shocked loved ones behind.

It's interesting the link between gaming and depression. I don't know if they will ever work out how much gamers are the type of person who get depressed or gaming makes them depressed.

In any case: getting lost in gaming can be very therapeutic if not done to excess.

It's true, sometimes having more choice can distract from a primary story- open world games sometimes are like this. RPGs would be stronger if your decisions had lasting consequences and there were no 'take backs' but it could frustrate if you failed to upgrade a certain way and then couldn't go forward, or someone gets killed and it reduces the Game's intended effect.

For example an enemy attacked me in Oblivion and I ran back to a city gate where a ch...

Zombies are dead! Well they should be. It was fun and fresh when Resident Evil did it, now it is ridiculous. To be fair Dead Island was in development for years and years.

Yes I noticed the whole: "we won't make the game only in some shades of colour" but then they do.

I tend to agree. The other point I'd make is that COD has always had the reputation of having a strong single player, where battlefield has mostly been about the multi.

In recent years multi has become a focus for both, but the fact that COD has had more console titles will probably help sell more too.

It looked like a unique game, yet either core gamers don't have Kinect, or maybe they buy the same as non-core- the Modern Warfares etc?

Is this game too different?

It's good to see publishers try anyway.

It has nothing to do with gamers IQ. It has to do with public perception.

That perception (true or not) is that the 3D causes headaches (and Nintendo itself says only 20 min and not for kids), and that it is an upgraded DS with 3D.

Truth doesn't matter if you've failed to express the differences.

Agreed. Price these days is essential, as demonstrated by the 3DS not selling well.

I tend to agree with you. However, it depends on what Nintendo does with it and what games come out on it.

We seem to be a tech happy society now. Also the number of parents who will happily buy Nintendo branded consoles over others because it seems 'more family friendly' cannot be discounted.

However these same parents will probably say: we already have a Wii, you don't need a Wii U. At least until there are no more games for the Wii.

It's the Wii 2: Have a look at the pics in the article...it's a combination of a HD Wii with a controller that is like a separate handheld. I know...strange.

5403d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

I'm not sure about the Wii U. It looks very very awkward and they didn't do a good job of showing its potential at E3.

It seems to be trying to please core AND casual gamers but not doing either.

And for heavens sake they need to stop relying on Mario et al. for their quality game experiences!!!

It is good when innovative ideas actually gain popularity as it should show big devs and publishers that such thinking can be rewarded. I wonder: is it only the PC crowd that would adopt, or if such things were done on consoles, would it be more risky?

Totally agree with this, though if Fable 3 had done a better (longer) job of the 'ruling over kingdom' part it may have done better.

Interesting that here most of the originals are better...
