FYI, even though I review the story in this article I make sure to not spoil anything for the true gamers out there waiting for their copy tomorrow. Just trust me when I say that it is really good and I will be playing through this game to platinum it regardless how many times it takes...
Beat BF3 Singleplayer. Now onto UC3 (got game early from AMC event). Once I am done with that SP I will switch off between UC3 and BF3 for MP. Do a little here and a little there.
I have a 40" Sony 3D TV. I got it last december and it's now paid off a couple months ago. Also got 2 pairs of glasses as it was buy one get one free. Total price was $1600 and that's with a 5 year warranty. They have come down even more. And I play UC3 Subway MP in 3D and it's pretty sweet. But to see the SP on a movie theater screen was just unreal.
@newsguy You fail at trolling. At least try and come up with something semi-intelligent or clever. Sheesh.
OT: I am getting this game early for attending the Play it first event. So stoked!
Umm the top 3 left get to play the level that we haven't seen. The winner wins $10,000 worth of Sony merchandise including a Slim PS3, a 3D TV and Full Sony Surround System. That's not a bad prize.
Agreed. I remember seeing a UK IGN review of MGS4 and it started off with the reviewer stating he hadn't played the 3 earlier games. I was like wtf?? What gives him the right to review the game. Also, not playing the first three affected his score as he gave it like an 8.5 or something lower then most other people. When I saw that is when I decided to create my own blog and write in terms of a true gamer's opinion who has a passion for games rather then being paid to write about crap ...
You have to if you are playing on PC. Which I am so I am forced to but during the beta I didn't have too much trouble with it.
Looking great! Can't wait to play a demo.
I am going tonight in LA. I know for me Naughty Dog doesn't have far to travel from Santa Monica. I have actually visited their studios before. Regardless, I hope to come away with some new information and such as well.
Yea and how you can alt-tab out of it or just play it in full screen with no slow down. I have Alt-Tabbing out of any STEAM game...takes forever and a half to get back in and I have a fast rig.
Not that I don't believe you but can you give me a link? I am curious to see this myself. I know the E3 demo looked better then the beta for petes sake.
@hilyou One way I am looking at it is that maps from Uncharted 2 had areas that were seen in the SP campaign that were "important to the story". So maybe they are keeping some UC3 maps out of the beta so not to spoil any areas that might give way to what happens in the story. That's my take on it.
@younglj01 Well I was in the beta from awhile back in June and they had more boosters, kickbacks, and weapons unlocked in that. Hell I even had a media beta key so I had the creepy crawler. I noticed right away with the Subway promo MP that they were missing the Creepy Crawler kickback as well as Cluster Bomb grenade. Not to be confused with carpet bomb which is 3 grenades at once. Cluster bomb is just nasty but dangerous in killing your teammates as well. It's a great tactic for KoH game...
There are weapons, boosters, and kickbacks all left out of the subway promo. Not to mention the level cap is at 35 whereas in the game it is most likely at 60 considering some weapon unlocks require a lvl 55.
My reality is better then yours....just saying.
But yea, "Augmented Reality". That is something that is really coming into it's own with the likes of the Wii U as well as a great showcasing of it with EyePet. Look at how the character in that game reacts to real world environments. Virtual Reality was thought to be the next big thing but I think Augmented Reality is above that even. We will just wait and see.
Whoa, who knew you could "switch" buddies by High-Fiving another person. Honestly I had no clue...that just added a new aspect. I can get rid of my crappy buddy who is camping in one spot sniping during Plunder...
I have to admit I am not liking the fact that since the news of the "hipfire" being OP that everyone is now simply hipfiring me for like 2 or 3 bullets then melee and I am dead. Now I try and do the same and it's like half the time I get the kill or kill them as well. I aim and hit people for around 5-6 bullets with M9 and they live...that to me is a problem. Hopefully it will be a little more balanced towards aiming rather then just hipfiring.
That's the sad thing. Reviews used to be helpful for those who didn't want to fork over the cash to buy a game and worry about returning it if they didn't like it. Now it's just to get hits on their site or create controversy. Some people give a great game a bad review just to make people argue. It's sad really...
Highrise is sweet but man oh man quite often you are killed hanging on the wall. It is quite dynamic of gameplay though. Fun too.
Yea, I received my copy Thursday and played it right away. Recently I got my TV setup with a PVR now so I plan on also adding walkthroughs and treasure placements later on in full HD. Be on the lookout for those.
