Oh my, Queue the fanboy rants.
I'd like to remind everyone here that REAL gamers know that graphics are not as important as content and gameplay. Power is not what makes a console great.
The PS2 was less powerful than the xbox and gamecube and it ruled the market. Why? because the content on the PS2 was outstanding. I'm not saying I know what console will be thee best, But haters need to open their minds instead of their mouths.
Fanboys, Please grow up.
The problem is that originally they gave us the ability to play PS2 games on the PS3, then they TOOK IT AWAY. Now, even though there is emulation software for the PS3 that allows it to play PS2 games, (The same software that was used on the 1st 80gb PS3) they are refusing to let the consumer/gamers have it, offering instead to sell them the games they already own on PSN so they can turn more profit. It's completely unprecedented and shady as hell.
not at any of the ones near us
RayRay36 - Not better without because we need a wide variety of games. Some people like FPS games and that's good. It stimulates the market. We need many genres to keep developers making all sorts of games and bringing innovation to them. All types of games are necessary. even if I personally think a game like MW is lame. The problem is when one type of game becomes popular on a massive level and we start getting cookie cutter crap. the same thing over and over. Whoring out the franchise ...
Not at all the same. COD is being exploited in a similar manner as Guitar hero. whoring out a franchise like this is not what the industry needs
Not better off without. But it WOULD be better off if the developers/publishers weren't exploiting the franchise and those who buy it. it's a clear indication that they are not making games for art or for the gamers, but for the $$ over all else.
I don't think there's anything pointless or trite about speaking ones opinion on one of the biggest contributing factors to the future of gaming right now.
I'd say just the opposite. Gamers not only NEED to talk about it. they need to make sure the developers know it's what they're thinking. I agree that not buying it is also necessary but not talking about it is never the answer.
I think the idea is that these will be vouchers for specific DLC that can be taken home and redeemed. not too different from getting a point card, but more geared toward getting people to trade physical product for digital downloads.

At the beginning of this Gen, Sony came out and slammed the 360 for not being fully Backwards compatible. They said that it was an important feature that they would not deny their customers.
Also, the 80gb BC PS3 played PS2 games VIA Emulation. That means the software already exists and could be included with current PS3 consoles. However, they have taken this functionality away so we wont have the option of playing our older games and will have to buy them VIA PSN or this crap strea...
What a scheme. Sony should be ashamed. Take away backwards compatibility so we HAVE to buy the same games we already have for PS2 through PSN or a crappy streaming service.
We all know that the 80gb Backwards compatible PS3 played PS2 games VIA emulation. So there's no excuse for Sony not to include this functionality on newer PS3 consoles aside from just wanting to charge us again for old games. (that a lot of us already own) I'm embarrassed for Sony, but not half as much as ...
This is old news. It's not just GB games, any old school cart with internal memory can have a dead battery. I did a replacement tutorial a while back myself covering different types of carts.

I'll jump ship. I love the 360. it's my console of choice this Gen. But lets face it. the attack on used games that the industry is pushing is insane.
If other consoles offer me the option to play used games, then I'll be glad to support them instead.
And queue the fanboys.
A great many of the biggest AAA titles this gen have been Multiplatform (Madden, battlefield, Modern warfare, assassins creed, skyrim, MVC3, ETC.
outside of that, PS3, 360, and Wii have each had some great exclusives.
That kind of fanboy mentality is really sickening. especially considering that's not at all what this article is about to begin with.
Exclusives will have very little to do with people's decisions not to sup...

Hopefully this IS the end of SOPA:)
Oh my. Queue the Fanboy ranting and raving.
GT5 is a solid game and Forza 4 will be as well.
Each will have something people find Superior to the other and the aforementioned fanboys will exploit those things to make their favorite look better.
I know it's radical thinking, but How about being grown ups and respecting each for what it does well?
sometimes the way so called "Hardcore" gamers talk is just plain embarrassing.
Even the multi platform games sell less on the PS3. (they have equal mass appeal.)
Also, Sony Exclusives like KZ3, Uncharted, God of war, ETC. have great Mass appeal. The thing is, this Gen Sony has failed to really catch the interest and most importantly the hearts of the masses as they did with the PS1 and PS2. It's cost them a great deal of market share.
My top 5 list would have had Fear Effect and XIII on it.
