hmm... very conflicted about this game. i did like uncharted 2, but not to the extent of calling it the "best game ever". the set pieces are very good and the production values are absolutely amazing. But i just can't care about the characters or the story. too boring and cliched(but then again it'a videogame). much like i personally don't care about hollywood... and this games claim to fame is basically emulating hollywood. the moment you strip that away the gameplay ...
personally i want them to give uncharted a break, as it is i'm not interested in the 3rd installment. i would love to seem them try something new. even if it's an uncharted inspired game, i would like to have crazy weapons(upgrades would be sweet) and equipments, challenging platforming sections(not just boring jump , left right , climb) etc... not just crashing buildings and pretty graphics ..oh and lets not forget the "cinematics"... more gameplay plz!!!

ok i'm a little confused.. is this the one where this guy wearing a black suit with spiky black hair(vague description?) was speaking to a girl , and was using a tank to fight enemies and fighting a bunch of mini dragon like creatures and oh a little bit of him was shown in a building walking until a bunch of soldiers interrupted him with an explosion?
i agree.. however i used ratchet(i think ratchet has been playing it extremely safe lately but the art design is really great to look at) and mario as an example because they seem to be the only exceptions these days.
like i said i'd like to see more games that take risks, be different. use interesting gameplay mechanics, zany art style. but sadly the tried and tested seems to work all to well for the people and devs alike. but like ten steps mentioned next year looks l...
yeah seems like 2011 will be a great year(personally eagerly waiting for journey and TLG). my problem is not so much with the fact that realism is ruining games or something, it's more to do with the fact that not many game devs are stepping out of their comfort zone. once in a while just let it loose, let go of the norms and step out of that box. it would be increadible to see what sort of sci-fi/fantasy elements they can come up with. it's just that realism in a way hold s them in ...
this was yet another game where i had set my expectation far too high. i liked the mechanics but loathed the story, writing and the voice acting. for a game so deeply rooted in story , it failed miserably at least for me. i mean the whole thing felt like like it was forcing you to feel sorry for the characters. it held my hand and not just pulled me but it dragged me.

wow what a waste. god of war 3 was such a letdown for me.. the entire game was a technical gimmick(which i must admit was very nice .. the titan/water horse god battle was truly amazing). the art design was bloody awful and the last boss fight was a joke. one of the reasons i played the god of war games was for it's brilliant world design. the temples , palaces , bogs etc were all phenomenal .. with god of war 3 we got the mountain of boredom. would've played god of war 2 with 3'...
a game like this really needs better facial expressions.. yes the graphics are really good but those facial expressions just aren't good. mostly look static and the voice acting could have been better!! i am not too sure about this game.. when is this releasing ?
a metal soundtrack? now that's just awesome.. although i just can't picture a trivium song working well with GOW3 and i just hate that band.. bands like behemoth , nile , emperor , vital remains and a bit of nevermore , heaven and hell etc.. seem more likely to fit the bill.. anyways can't wait for this game.
you know a lot of people think shawshank redemption is the greatest movie whereas i would argue that "cries and whispers" is the greatest..i don't call them naive for liking that movie.. they connected with the movie's story .. i can't fault them for that .

the setup reminds me of the movie "the sons room" the story was about a family dealing with their sons death(amazing movie BTW).. the main character looks a bit like nanni moretti .

i'll have to disagree.. MGS 4 while a phenomenal game (and not just MGS 4 the whole MGS series) but the story was piss poor and very badly written . it always felt forced and i just couldn't find myself enjoying the story what so ever or the characters for that matter!!
but to say movies can't touch the emotional depth of MGS was simply ignorant.. now i don't know if you're comparing the game to only big budget hollywood movies or movies in general.. in that...
i couldn't understand a single thing in that video .. yet i saw the whole thing!!! this is the only game that i'm gonna buy this year(unless GOW3 releases).they could've just written "looks absolutely stunning"
simple might have been the wrong word.
for eg. take resistance 3. just playing around with the various weapons to take out the enemy or bioshock, where you have these additional abilites or gadgets in batman. things like that. i guess umm.. more gamey things.
the platforming in uncharted isn't really that great either as it has to stick to the "look at the end of the drake is supposed to be an everyday man, who can do quite a few extraordinary thing...
