Releasing it as a $100+ Add-on would be suicide,building it into the console is the easiest way to avoid a financial disaster.
This is excellent news for Nintendo and Sony,as it all but guarantees the Xbox 360 will retail for $199+ for a longer time than previously thought :)

The,'successful',Xbox 360 console has only managed to sell(keyword) 4 Million more consoles than the 'loser' that is the Xbox 1.
Considering next year is Year 5 for the 360,it appears this gen didn't pan out too differently than last gen for the Redmond company.
