Idk if it's worth buying this, I already have the originals on Steam, unplayed, and I really can't see enough improvement personally.
It never even had a chance to live, stop trying to drag its crumbling corpse back out.
People are still getting recent games running on it, with some tweaks, some people have gotten Space Marine 2 running on it, it doesn't look pretty, but it's playable.
This alone is more than enough reason to support Valve/Steamdeck over the competition.
It's honestly impressive what Nintendo manages with the Switch considering how weak the hardware is, even now, the hardware is showing its age, and they're still making good use of it.
I can't see a Steamdeck 2 happening for another 3 or 4 years at least, technology needs to catch up first, I don't understand what parts people are expecting Valve to shove into a successor if one was made today.
Get left behind? What a joke, there's barely been any significant improvement in APUs since the Steamdeck released (which is only 2 years old), unless you want to really sacrifice battery life, and that's not a compromise I'm willing to make on something like a portable handheld.
I'm pretty sure the Steamdeck is still the most popular/perferred handheld as well, despite others like the Rog Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw, Zotac Zone, etc... Having more processing ...
Yeah it was, it's practically a death kiss for most games.
I hope it has a multi-player component like the 64 game did, I know some of the newer games had multi-player, but it wasn't as fun, especially when you can't have 4 player split screen.
@Noskypeno,
No, Asians are white adjacent, so that would never happen, apparently, look at AC Shadows, that explains a lot.
Retro games are in right now, most of them are probably playing Fortnite or something, but I think you could get them to play a remastered PS1 with better graphics.
I'm pretty impressed with the Tomb Raider remastered graphics (and the improved controls, modern controls makes a world of difference compared to tank controls).
Some of the stuff from these leaks is pretty wild, particularly the human/Pokémon relations, I imagine Game Freak spends a lot of time reigning in the lore guy (supposedly it's a girl) who's totalling into that mythos. Makes me wonder if some of the stuff we see in game is toned done versions of that stuff that has been sanitised for the audience (some of that is really interesting though).
I wouldn't think they'd have enough to make much more than a tech demo, obviously the game would be pretty under baked at the moment (plus that would be a lot of work for a small group of modders).
Words cannot describe how salty I am about that, yeah, really salty.
There are so many games I'd wish they'd bring to that service.
This, they're completely different markets, having said that, I'm probably going to buy both, I appreciate the Switch for its library of exclusives, and the Steam Deck pretty plays most other games.
I like to lounge around the house/yard with it, which is what I do with my Switch undocked as well, the Steam deck itself isn't as cumbersome as you would expect for it's size (it's very portable, especially compared to a laptop), If I was going on a car trip or flying somewhere, that's when I'd take it. It's also more convenient to take to a friend's house instead of hauling my whole PC setup over there. The only thing i'd wish for is more battery life, I'...
I'm glad this is the case, although I expected it, there are not many options for Valve to jump to in terms of APUs, and I don't see the point of stuffing in as much power as possible into a handheld if I can't get decent battery life out of it. Having owned a Steamdeck for almost a year now, I'm happy, considering what it is. I don't want to see a new one for at least another 4 or 5 years, hopefully by then, technology will have advanced far enough to make a significant i...
That NDA is going to last 2 minutes after the game or feature in question is available, I find it hard to believe everyone is going to keep their mouth shut.
@Obscure_Observer,
This is actually one of the reasons I left Playstation (among a few other reasons), it got to the point where it barely has any true exclusives.
@Armyof darkness,
Playstation isn't very good this gen, this is the most disappointing console generation.
