There is no true meaning for "hardcore" when talking about a video game. It's just like what Moon said, it just some new term that came out used by these elitist gamers trying to feel like a better gamer than others and for marketing purposes. It was never a genre back then and it isn't now.

Chances are, their next console wouldn't have 'Wii' or '2' in it's name. I don't think are all for numbers.

After playing Uncharted ( which I own *facepalm* ) and downloading a few shooter titles via PSN I can tell you right now aiming with the WiiMote makes dual analog look like the gimmick.
Unless you speak for every core gamer, your opinion on those titles means nothing. But nevertheless, we have shown you titles other than just Mario that were core games and those were just Nintendo titles.

If i'm not mistaken, Nintendo support more core titles than the casuals with certainly better quality. Their first game launch title was a core game. They haven't abandoned or "sacrificed" their old fans. Nintendo are talking releasing their three big trump cards this year. Nintendo are merely expanding their audience because that's where the money it, hence Micro and Sony jumping on board. I certainly don't. After playing the RE5 demo I can never trust for there to another good RE game again. It wasn't even scary, even with the lights off. Which probably explains why they keep rereleasing their old Survival Horror titles every gen.
The only thing scary about that game was aiming with that dual analog.
If I paid full retail price for that game, I would have to kill somebody.
It seems Capcom of France thinks that the opportunity for "hardcore" games has dried for the Wii, due to their sale of Darkside Chronicles. Perhaps if they weren't "testing" the Wii audience by giving them the double ported Resident Evil 4 and the rail shooter Umbrella Chronicles (nothing against rail shooters) just to see if it was safe to put Resident Evil 5 (or any RE4 style game) on the Wii and then giving them another on-rails Resident Evil, things might be different....

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more. The Wii has many good games. To say stuff such as "no games" and "the wii sucks and you know it" just makes you look like a fanboy, and I don't mean of the N64 sort.
