I thought Gears 2 dropped below the top 10 as of a month or two ago?
Lemme double check.
Halo 3 is doing plenty fine. It still amazes me to this day.
I played some yesterday, and there's still a nice balance between pros and noobs in its population. Still fun to play.
Bungie said so space combat in multiplayer.
Halo Wars fills the RTS niche in the console market. Granted, it's not a huge audience, but it's there.
More than simply 'graphics', I think a game's look needs identity.
Killzone 2 has good graphics; but in my opinion, it lacked identity. Can any gamer look at the gray buildings in the background and yell "That's Killzone!"
On the other hand, most people can immediately tell that a Halo environment is from a Halo game. Same for Gears. Same for Uncharted 2.
As Cliff Blezinsky stated,
Modern games need graphics to catch new gamers' attention. However at the core, gameplay is what matters.
There is a reason why many gamers rush out to get Halo day 1.
Did you ever consider the possibility of it being fun to play?
Aw, come on. Gears of War has terrible explosions.
4 player co-op.
A Lambant berserker.
Split screen (at least, they're trying to implement it)
That is all.
I believe they said no co-op. Search it up.
oops. nvm.
Legit interview or what? I didn't watch the video.
But that looks like an actual human Brian Jerrard(?) in the thumbnail pic.
Such old-school designs have to be ditched in favor of more streamlined experiences.
Too true.
Pick up on this guys!
Have fun till the 'future' games come, son.
Alan Wake had almost no marketing support from Microsoft aimed at the general gaming audience.
On the other hand, Red Dead Redemption busted its balls on television ads the week before it went on store shelves. Even my casual gaming friends noticed it and went out to buy it.
It takes way longer than a week to produce an episode.
What studios do is that they produce the entire season about halfway through (or fully), and release the episodes one by one; thus the delay in between seasons.
Most stores have deals for day one purchases for high-profile games.
You have time. Gears 3 comes out next year.
It's pretty obvious.
If you look at the scenes, the custom-animated scenes are from a 3D program, such as 3DS Max or Maya. Look at the environments. The lighting is quite different.
Their compositing is also quite good, which is why it looks consistent throughout the whole video.
Wai... what? Did I miss something over the past few weeks?
Killzone 3 split screen?
