$15! I did not know that.
I'll be looking into a purchase.
Stealth works in this game - just faster paced.
And shooting is optional. I think Ubisoft wants Sam Fisher to seem like he's not restricted by Third Echelon anymore - that he can do whatever he wants.
I played the demo without firing a single bullet, except for that mark/execute tutorial. I have to say the game appears more fun without the guns, but it's nice to have the option.
BTW, is there a knife in this game?
Sure, I 'hate' Call of Duty like the rest of you, but the single (co-op as well?) player portion of this game sounds interesting. Might rent it.
I enjoyed COD 5's campaign, so this is a god bet.
Oh, I'm actually in the fight with my m24 + red dot sight, with a squad of friends. The motion sensors prove invaluable especially when attacking.
I'm one of the few people who know how to use the sniper up close, and know when to switch out to the pistol.
WHEN ATTACKING DON'T HACK BACK AND SNIPE!
YOU'RE NOT REALLY 'HELPING' YOUR TEAM BY OFFERING COVERING FIRE. YOU'RE JUST NOT HELPING AT ALL!
Uncharted 2 online was mediocre from what I played. It 'works' but I couldn't see any depth to it.
Not being a fanboy here or anything. I really tried to like Gears 2 competitive online, but couldn't get into it. I guess it's the 3rd person shooter part that doesn't work for me online.
I decided to give the demo a second try, after not enjoying it the first time:
It was one of the most incredible gaming experiences of the past year!
Weird as it sounds, I put myself in the mindset of Sam Fisher, actually moving stealthily. I was terrible in my first play through, ending up playing the game Gears style, but this time, I went through the entire mission without firing a single bullet (except for the mark/execute tutorial).
The real strengt...
Ooops. Double post.
It's on xbox, so it must look bad.
Oh, the logic.
Ima say it right here: Alana Wake is on par with Uncharted 2.
If your definition of graphcs are in how technically impressive it is:
Lighting: better
Texture quality: on par
Animation: I have no idea. I haven't seen enough gameplay footage
Poly count: can't tell from what was shown. Probably lower, but it's not distracting from gameplay
And if judge graphic...
From the footage shown from NBC (I think) several several months ago, I thought it looked really cool. Third person definitely doesn't help with it's 'realism' factor, but it looks like a game you can play and have fun with.
Of course, I'm hoping for features that help it stand out from others. Ghost Recon would be a direct competitor.
Medic is undeniably the easiest, most effective class to use in the game.
After maxing out the class and pouring hours into it, I decided to screw around with the other classes. Recon who runs up to the front lines with a red dot sight?
I don't think so.
Like what Reach is doing, I think the next Half Life should really improve on the size and scale. Continue on with the direction Episode 2 took with it's somewhat large outdoor environments. That last fight against the striders was one of the finest gaming moments in recent memory.
As well as variety.
And I'd also like the gunplay to change/improve. I still believe Half Life has some of the weakest shooting mechanics out of all the high-prof...
Halo: Ghosts of Onyx anyone?
Has this DRM been cracked yet?
Because last I heard, pirates can't quite access the real game. They can roam around the early stages of the city, but can't start missions and such.
Last I heard, this was a Q1 2011 release?
I don't think so.

Eh... according to an interview (I think with 1up), I heard one of the lead developers of GOW3 stating that they tested giving the player all the weapons on their second playthrough from the start, but it apparently 'totally broke the game'.
Fanboys on a specific console's exclusive game article?
I can't even begin to imagine
I played the first three hours of God of War 3 at a buddy's place
My impressions:
I found myself yelling 'HOLY SH*T' every 20 seconds playing the game; but despite now brilliantly crafted the experience is, GOW3 for me is a rental. There's only so many ways one can play through that campaign.
Same for Alan Wake. That's probably a rental for me too.
You guys make it seem that renting is a terrible thing to do. Yes, the money doesn't go to the...
Same here. It was (is?) an excellent, excellent arcade title - the experience was comparable to that of a full priced title, minus the amount of content.
PLEASE support BC2 more than you did for 1943 DICE. Please...
