I'm really getting mixed observations on this game. IGN said 5 hours. People with the game on forums (including Neogaf) are saying about 8 hours. No reports on the length of the co-op campaign.
God... I'm so torn between whether I should rent or buy.
Your are not going to be impressed with the graphics. It runs at 60fps.
I wonder why they made that decision though. I always knew ghost recon as a slower, more tactical game. There's no need for such a high frame-rate.
And to anyone who says the game will look cruddy because it's also out on the Xbox... I will hunt down your mom. Lets keep discussions relatively clean here.
You have no idea how this stuff works, do you? Lag is down to netcode. How the laggy games you played were Unreal Engine games were a coincidence.
That's like saying any game on the Cryengine will be an outstanding game. No. A developer can make a game that looks like a piece of sh*t with that engine. It's all about how the devs use the engine, not the engine itself.
Yeah, even to me, the E3 demo seemed more than plausible.
The part 'impossible to re-create on xbox hardware' was probably the city drive-through part. The scope was actually quite huge.
In the article, Bungie does state how the original plan for Halo 2 was actually Halo 2 and 3 combined, and how they were over-ambitious. I guess they had to scale everything back from their goals.
Fangblade: But the PS3 is more powerful than the Xbox! Therefore, Alan Wake is automatically not a good game!
Halo 3 MLG Pro: It's been proven that the Xbox has a stronger GPU and the PS3 has a piece of sh*t SPU and RAM. The Cell is not useful for games
Saga Kin (aka Saaking): I'm not a fanboy, but you eventually have to accept the fact that the Xbox is a weak-ass console. If it were capable of Uncharted 2 level graphics, we would have seen it by now.
I pushed Conviction to my rent list - not because it's not a quality game. I enjoyed the hell out of the demo. I've heard that the game's quite short. 5 hour single player (6 on harder difficulties), 2ish hour co-op campaign. I'm unlikely to play it more than 2 times over, so that's probably an 18 hour experience for me before never touch it again.
Unless someone can prove me otherwise. If I have my facts wrong, I can always push ...
Love the 'dead' atmosphere.
No fanboys. Only extremists.

Too true, Gears desperately needs a beta - but Epic is totally against having demos for their games...

Make sure you post your opinions on the game.
Because they mean more than what most other N4G users say.
Killzone 2 has some of the most terrible writing I've seen in a while.
Lets face it, shooter's storylines are not that deep. Halo games try to, but can't quite get to their book's counterparts.
To be fair...
Crysis 1's storyline was 10 times sh*ttier than Halo's fiction.

The version of Conviction we have now had only been worked on for about 2 years.
They completely scrapped the hobo-sam Splinter Cell builds and its content.
Is the actual game closer to 8 hours SP, 2 hours Prologue?
Neogaf poster CloakedPuppet is saying that it look him about 10 hours on his normal playthrough.
Some other people are saying similar things.

I think the IGN reviewer is not human.
2 modes is way too simplified. They should have reduced it to 3
left, right, down on the d-pad for consoles.
Up to customize weapon.
That's not revolutionary. That's simply better execution.
True.
We must define then. What is a space marine?
I honestly don't think space marines are overused - or at least, in shooters?
The only shooters I can think of that are related:
Halo
Doom
Killzone
Mass Effect
Maybe Resistance, but I don't understand the story very well.

An...
Blasphemy! If my favorite game isn't on there, his opinion is wrong!
