There is no competition.
And Uncharted is on another platform.
Uncharted... shooter...
I'll say it right here: I didn't like shooting in Uncharted 2. Gears shooting mechanics are much more refined.
I love you Bungie. Don't ever leave N4G, lol.
Those screenshots do lot look impossible.
The scale of the environments are not mindboggling. Combine that with further 360 optimization, there can be a lot more resources dedicated to higher quality textures.
Or, of course, they're using high-poly cutscene models.
I wish they introduced reticle bloom - make it take fewer shots to kill, but the trade down is the bloom.
Of course, only to a small extent. We don't want to break Gears multiplayer all over again.
I don't think Insomniac's games got the sales they deserved. The new Rachet and Clank was a great game.
Intense, INTENSE showdown.
People rip on COD 5 way too much.
sltPoison
With the scale of environments shown in Reach, horizontal resolution will not make much of a difference, not to mention the temporal AA that's implemented.
Outside of N4G, I'm not seeing a whole lot of hype around The Last Guardian. It's a new IP, not enough was shown about it, and it's quite far off compared to 2010's fall blockbusters.
The game had an incredible story. It's the only game I've played over the past several years where I thought about the story after I completed the game.
But still, I don't think it's worth $70 bucks. Wait for the price to go down or rent it. I'd recommend renting.
I'm kinda confused about Zane's role though.
I do believe they went a bit overboard with the post processing. The transitions are quite jarring.
I like how joystiq doesn't give number ratings. They have their readers judge for themselves and just have written reviews.
But if we absolutely need one... the 5 point scale would work, no half points.
I couldn't enjoy Overlook due to the lag. I hope they fixed the co-op netcode...
Wrong target audience. Try neogaf.
:D
Al Bundy. What the f*ck is Killzone 3?
Fangblade's a blind fanboy, so his opinions don't count.
But really, I thought Reach would be up there. I guess the mystery surrounding it died a bit after the beta. Personally, I'm looking forward to the inevitable campaign reveal.
Oh trust me, if Sony could get a third party exclusive with Bungie, they would.
They're not immune to the draw of money.
Maybe a bit off topic, but
That ending was confusing. I just finished the game, and I was quite impressed by the story and how the entire game was well paced.
What game isn't?
