What was there to like?
The grinding in the game was borderline ludicrous. While that doesn't bother me in games like Monster Hunter, where you're fighting massive beasts and having fun doing so, Valhalla Knights was a grindfest of slims for the first hour of gameplay. Last time I did that was on the NES (Dragon Warrior) and I had more fun then than with VK.
The zoom function was in the default browser since I got my PS3 at the top of this year. That should be 2.3 or so.
The zoom function added to Life with Playstation is new since 2.5 and is worth it, though. Gotta love it when people don't fully research the functionality of a system...
6$ for one character that's already on the disc is quite pricey...
That's actually false. It's been shown by Dark AleX himself that the PSP-3000 is far more likely to be hacked than the most recent security-enabled PSP-2000 motherboard.
It basically says that they can take whatever you make in their game.
I don't see how this is a big problem. Mod tools of PC games such as Unreal Tournament have also had this same EULA and it's produced more employees for the gaming industry than gaming schools have.
We won't really know until Bioshock actually comes out, but considering how the game is already on 360 and PC, don't expect big sales from people who already have either on top of their PS3.
The biggest problems we've been hearing about Bioshock is the horrendous textures on one particular Big Daddy in the demo.
The right question is when does the gaming media ever get things right.
The listing was of 9 playable PS3 games on the TGS floor that weren't part of their original list. In the end, we got all 9 listed.
How is this so hard to understand?
Keep in mind that this game was found on the ESRB ratings database. Chances are, this game may never see the light of day on the aforementioned consoles. Remember, there are tons of games rated for PSN and a select few for XBLA that have been rated for months but have yet to even be acknowledged by their respective publishers.
This honestly can't be Microsoft's fault.
Square Enix announced FFXIII back when the PS3's technical specs were coming out. There were even interviews with 3D designers showing off one of the massive full cities in the game, with most of the outdoor areas completed. Unless the PS3 (and subsequently 360) can't handle what work they did with the city, that's a humongous amount of work already done.
This game better last well over 200 hours. The wait for FFXII gave m...
Things got impossibly bad since they started all of their secretive "Mega Theater" events. This really sends the wrong message about their development status: What's going on and what is it going to be like?
Having all of these events just gives off one message time and time again, especially as more and more people get out of them with "meh" faces: They're not taking things seriously.
How many of them will actually come out over here, though?
Let's just hope Irem can get them out here, but I doubt all three will end up outside of Japan.
I recall Disney saying Blu-ray will take over in two years, too.
The bigger headlines always come from people badmouthing something, while the ones that support it are usually confronted with those same badmouth articles. Kind of like what's happening right now.
As a Suikoden fan, this looks nothing like what they've done in the past with the franchise. Still not sold on the tons of changes they've done, but at least the unite attacks seem to be far better than in Suikoden 5.
Really does depend, though. You could cover the entire franchise storyline in a 30 minute TV show episode. Unless they delve far into the backgrounds of Segfried and/or Nightmare, there just isn't enough to fill in an hour of storyline with something that remotely matches the story in the games.
Good news about this coming out so soon. Here's hoping Suikoden VI will be among the announcements at TGS (Konami have one unannounced game for PS3).
GBA BC isn't the same as PS2 BC in that the GBA slot was being used by many games as a bonus slot, where games would unlock features if you had a corresponding GBA game. Other games, like Guitar Hero, require the slot in order to work at all.
I don't see this being THAT much of an issue, but I'm definitely not sold on getting it. My DSL is still going strong and I've yet to see a DS game coming out in the next year and a half that interests me. Perhaps once we see double-touch...
Oh god, the screen saver crashes this game too?
You'd think they would've learned after Pure's problems.
It's actually interesting... This is a 20th anniversary special game, yet they only cover the first 16 years worth of games. There are noteworthy NPCs in FFXI and FFXII that are being completely ignored, not to mention a couple spinoff games that many people deem worthy enough to be included (Tactics, notably).
DLC and unlockables are the only way to go from this point forward, so let's see.
Here's hoping for Suikoden 6 or Monster Hunter PS3 (I know 3 went to the Wii).
Perhaps even Monster Rancher 6.
Strangely enough, I've been playing the 2D GTA games as of late and find them far more fun to play than the 3D ones. Probably has something to do with the speed and top-down view.
