Except if that game is battlefield3. I doubt nvidia or amd would risk blowing up bf3 for a carmack game. people are going to be updating hardware by the masses to play it. The last thing they'd want is a rep for poor optimization running bf3

Indeed a maxed out 2033 was what finally overtook crysis for me. Same thing with witcher 2. crysis has been surpassed for awhile now and I'm just exuding to see just how much is missing from bf3
So you distrust a game that's shown you nothing but gameplay footage all year. Given you an open beta that your can play right now, and has many many many gameplay videos on youtube.

origin works just fine. It's just a web site I have saved in my shortcut bar so I do everything through firefox. I don't even mess with the actual program
closed betas are still generally accepted as a legit beta.
You can't go plastering beta invites to help sell games (moh) and expect to be taken seriously.
this beta lost all real credibility as a beta when it was touted as a selling point on another game. I'm not upset in the slightest with DICE. I have every reason to believe BF3 will be the game I want it to but DICE had this coming due to poor marketing.

its because Nvidia has had their share of driver issues also.
There's been a few times where the drivers were frying cards which imo is just as bad as having a shoddy rep for drivers. I've recommended the gtx570 to people and I've recommended to the 6970 to other people. I use the 6970 and have never had a driver issue with any of my ati cards in years.
there is no end all be all goto company for drivers. Figure out which games ur gonna play and ...
