I am really shocked that getting GoldenEye 007 onto XBLA (or anywhere, really) has been such a difficult task. Those companies are really giving up easy money.
Yeah, it reminds me a little of Fracture as well. The game's ultimately going to live or die based on this one physics feature.
When it comes to fanboys, only the PS3 and 360 matter for exclusivity. The PC version is treated as an afterthough, even if it might be the better version in some cases (ex: Left 4 Dead).
I wouldn't mind a sort of Valkyria Chronicles combat system where it's still a turn-based RPG but it feels like a third-person shooter. I kind of expect a new X-Com to play like a traditional first-person shooter, though. Even that would be interesting if they kept the overall base-building aspects.
The rumor is that 2K Boston and Ken Levine are making a new one.
I've played the first one (UFO Defense), which is one of my favorite games of all time. Heard good things about Terror Under The Sea and Apocalypse, too.
They're not as good as an experienced human but they're competent. I mean it's a lot better than being short a man.
I agree, multiplayer bots are a nice feature. I consider them as more of a last resort feature, though. For example, when your teammate goes AFK/disconnects in Left 4 Dead, it's awesome that the computer takes over that character. It'd be neat if that happened in competitive multiplayer games as well. For example, if you're in a 5v5 match in Uncharted 2 and two of your teammates disconnect, the computer controls them until the end of the match. That would be cool.
I wasn't that keen on RF2. It feels like the black sheep of the series to me. Didn't do enough with terrain deformation.
Kind of hard to disguise a DVD though, you know? You could tell just by the feel and size of the package. If GameFly sprang for bigger packages to "hide" their product, it would cost them money. The burden's on the Post Office to root out people that do crap like this.

If it's your intention to steal games and play them, snatching one or two over time might be the smart move. In this guy's case, it looks like he wanted to make a lot of money off trade-ins. Still, could've pulled off his plan by stealing a lot less.
SR2 had a wacky charm to it. Loved the paparazzi and sewage trucks minigames. GTA4 blows it away in terms of the main campaign, though.
Yep. Doesn't help that publications have been able to post reviews so far in advance of the release date.
As far as I know, GameFly's no more a partner with Microsoft than they are with Sony. Wait, why am I debating with an obvious troll?

Well, there's never a real undisputed Game of the Year considering how many publications there are out there (some genre-specific, some platform-specific, etc). According to Bethesda, they racked up a few dozen GOTY awards though.
Well, I've seen a decent amount of 8.5-9's out there for Brutal. However, the praise is far from universal.
Yeah, I'm not going to complain about new IP's. I will, however, hang my head in embarrassment when they attempt to release them during October/November with all of the Call of Duty's and other sequels flying around.
