So, does the color correction add particle effects, increase draw distance, etc. too?
@XiKurapikaKurta:
"Who the hell cares some stupid grass doesn't look the same anymore? Play games and stop giving graphics so much importance."
The game is excellent no doubts but it would be even much better if it would have incredible graphical videlity. It's about immersion and atmosphere.
If console versions are even close to PC...
Vulkan is way to go.
Vulkan Summary:
• Vulkan is very low overhead
• Cross platform, cross vendor
- Not tied to single OS (or OS version)
- Not tied to single GPU family or vendor
- Not tied to single architecture
• Open, extensible
- Khronos is an open standards body
- Collaboration from a wide cross section of industry, IHVs + ISVs, games, CAD, AAA + casual
- Full support for extensions, layeri...
To me it looks like consoles are just lacking lots of genres which would make the platform more interesting; simulation games, RTS, MOBA, strategy, 4X, etc.
Of course there's a problem - the controller. The gamepad is very bad in many genres like strategy games, 4X games, fast paced FPS games, etc. Consoles would need a mouse and maybe even keyboard to be able to play more complex games (hotkeys are mandatory).
I'm personally quite convinced that VR is going t...
@Hanuman: Only 16G RAM but of course this is years old computer aleady.
DDR4 128G is quite tempting especially for work PC. Can't wait HBM GPU and Vulkan (or DX12). Fortunately we don't have to wait long anymore.

Well, that's how it is. I bought ~200€ GPU to my 5 year old work PC and it runs games much better (like GTA V) than PS4 and other consoles.
If The Witcher 3 would have made gaming PC in mind the difference would be enormous. TW3 is a console game designed played with controller and it shows and feels - of course it will sill look much better on PC.
GTX 980 Ti vs R9 390X is going to be interesting. I guess NVIDIA's real answer is coming in 2016 when first Pascal cards are going to be released.
Anyway, great time for PC gaming. Additionally Vulkan and DX12 will push things even further. Unfortunately most of the AAA games are still made in consoles in mind and it shows.
They are still free if mod authors wants so. It is up to them. Boycott mod authors who wants to get money from hard work they have done for their mods.
One good way to boycott is to make your own mods and share them for free.
@Genuine-User:
"Create the "Early Access" monetization strategy, selling unfinished garbage based on hype, games that promise the world and offer a non-functional mess and never update after taking your money."
How can you blame Valve if developers are making poor games?
There are great games coming from Early Access. Support and buy them.
"Unlike GOG which is DRM-Free, the entire Steam exists to be yet anothe...
No, it is up to mod makers. Valve is not forcing mod makers to sell their mods.
If they like GDDR5 I guess they are going to love HBM that is going to be used on PC soon.

GTA V runs even on a laptop - with Vulkan or DX12 it would run even better.
Unfortunately there are no many games that are targeted for gaming PCs (max. 2 year old GPU, CPU, etc.). GTA V is a console game but a fine port.
Console game ported to PC so I guess no much differences to be expected other than much higher frame rate and resolution.
Interesting and good times for PC gaming. Upcoming R9 390X and NV with Pascal architecture will be a big step forward. Of course not only hardware but Vulkan and DX12 will push things to next level.
Hopefully GPU competition will stay strong in future as well. Good for customers.
This console generation has been all about graphics as every one has seen here in N4G. Owning only one gaming device doesn't make you any less gamer. People who are using mobile phones for gaming are just as much gamers than PS4 owners.
Cities: Skylines is truly an achievement and surprise. The amount of advertising and hype wasn't anywhere near what Bloodborne had. Great to see both games doing great. I hope we will see them on as many platforms as possible in future.
Why? Wouldn't it be great to have Souls games for as many platforms as possible? They would sell much more than what Bloodborne is selling now.
Exclusive games are the worst thing in this "war". Gamers loses.
@Losso-Oso: "What? So your telling a game like Bloodborne is not a complex, deep and satisfying experience?"
Story can be complex but the gameplay is simple. It is hack&slash game and designed for gamepad. A quite good game still, at least to me better than Dark Souls 2.
"Guess you thought the souls series were a whole bunch hand holding games by the developer."
Once you learn game mechanism Souls -series is not hard. ...
